I think people will overreact to things they see, and Ohio State fans (I know everyone does) tend to forget the other team is going to give Ohio State its best shot right out of the gate, even in bodybag games.

I seriously doubt the defense did anything but basic stuff yesterday - I didn't get to watch much until the 4th quarter. If Ball State's coaches have any talent whatsoever, they know there would be some basic cover 3 defense going on most the day with not a lot of blitzing. Again I didn't see a lot, but if the tackling was good, the schematic stuff doesn't bother me much.

Sock is wondering if he is that bad, if it’s coaching, or is it both? He doesn’t even have the basics down. Footwork isn’t great and he doesn’t go through his reads. Wasn’t this guy the best player on most recruiting services on every recruiting site? Sock so confused.

that too...or if they don't snap the damn ball with 15 or 20 seconds on the final offensive drive....or if they don't botch the snap on 3rd and short...or if the refs call a CLEAR and BLATANT facemask on the 2nd to last drive...

So many what ifs.

One thing that isn't a what if is WMU got absolutely fucked on the clock review.

If WMU kicks a field goal early in the game instead of thinking they need to score touchdowns, they would have been up 8. Michigan would have needed the 2 point conversion.

They looked absolutely awful.

If the WMU QB keeps the ball more on the dives and makes better reads all game, they lose by 2+ TDs.

Michigan's lawyers should be going over Bryce Underwood's NIL contract to see how they can get out of it and move on from him next year. He was ass last year and he continues to be ass. No improvements.

He needs to play. The narrative that he’s going to “force himself on the field looks to hold true.”

I’d imagine those swing and flare routes are a really simple and nice way to acclimate him o the passing game.

If the secondary drops back and doesn’t sit in a zone, fling him the ball for an easy 5-8 yards. You can eat teams alive all night with the commitment they’re going to have to make against Smith and McCuin.

It almost seems worse to need the refs to bail you out to beat a MAC team and have that be the major story than to just lose to the MAC team. I mean, nobody talks about how scUM lost to a 1AA team at home anymore, right? The only way they can avoid sucking is to cheat. That's the real story.

He looked like he took the opportunity very seriously. He looked confident and in command.

In the offseason all the talking heads debate who will be a playoff team. Michigan was in that conversation on being a fringe playoff team. From what we saw on the field they are far from a playoff team. From what we saw off the field, the NCAA wants them in the playoff so bad that they will bend the rules or dare I saw cheat to get them in.
