Login to view embedded media This is just the new normal in CFB. Ive seen numerous parents of kids who are 2stars or lower and they dont or didnt get 1 D1 offer. And camps at big schools would tell them this exact thing. Go to a smaller school, get some film and then transfer. I know kids at Georgetown(KY), Mercyhurst, Tusculum, Wittenberg, Elon, Slippery Rock, etc who at the end of the season they will meet with their coaches and see where they can transfer and the process will start all over with their replacement in the off season

I disagree. Pat’s issue was never competitiveness, it was him being at NW . He lacked resources and is a difficult place to recruit and win at consistently. But he really excelled with what he had to work with.

Him with NIL resources, bigger school name, and still having connections to the Midwest will serve him very well. If he can get a solid staff, this will be fun to watch him beat up on Sharlene Moore.

As much as he's done with the X's and O's, I don't think you can ignore the value of his relationships and interactions with players and other coaches. He's always hugging and encouraging others, offense, defense, or Coach Day. Him hugging Day and talking to him after the game, it appeared a lot of Patricia's joy was for Day. Him hugging KMAC and telling him, "Celebrate with me," when it appeared KMAC was almost overcome with emotion, and at least a dozen other examples. He's been a tremendous addition to the program, well beyond drawing up game plans.
