2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Curtis Givens III brings another combo guard into the fold, so more ballhandling, passing, scoring and depth to the backcourt. With that, it could be that OSU is done adding rotation players for this season. Projected bench is Givens at 1/2, Williams at 2/3, Smith at 3/4 and Jelavic at 4/5 along with Njegovan at the 5.

I'm thinking they might try to add 1 more transfer (probably a more true 3 type) but it's going to be a lower end commodity as that would be a real deep end bench role

Good catch. Seems a thing we may lack is a "True" PG type? Pippen is probably the closest to that?

Will be interesting to see how Mobley/Pippen/Williams/Givens all rotate with eachother.
Pippen had by far the highest assist rate, so I would assume he will start at the 1.

Givens had an assist rate of 16.5 this past season, which actually isn't all that high. Not sure where the 51.1% number came out of, but it is an obvious error. Top PGs range from near 30% and up, but 51% is unheard of. So Givens is definitely another combo guard, not really a PG.

Givens is about the best we could have realistically hoped for that backup PG type role. Hopefully he can get that runover rate down but other than that he's definitely an upgrade over Cupps.
Givens was actually a 4-star, top-100 recruit in the same class as Juni Mobley & according to some services he was actually rated higher than Mobley. He has the right tools, he just has to have the right mental approach, work on his game & become more efficient. He took some steps forward this past season. If he can make some more strides, he could be a real player. If you compare and contrast Givens vs who he is effectively replacing, Gabe Cupps, obviously Givens has a much higher upside, but he has a lower floor than Cupps, who at least reliably executed his role within the team concept. This is a boom or bust type of pickup - nothing wrong with rolling the dice on upside with a guy who right now looks like the 8th man. This season, Givens scored 20 at Ole Miss and 18 at Mississippi State, so he has had some games vs P5 competition where he has been productive; meanwhile, Cupps had 17 scoreless outings for the Buckeyes last season & never scored in double figures once.

Lots more Vrabel shit hitting the fan in the twittersphere. Affair began in 2018, caught kissing in a bar in 2020, Russini has a kid in 2021 and names him Michael. Paternity test on the Maury Povich show incoming...

So you're saying her kid isn't average like her cuck husband? I feel like this can't be a surprise for anyone involved, just those of us on the outside.

I'll be... unfiltered.

I don't give a fuck about the cheating. At the same time, anyone on this board can spare us the sanctimonious "he who is without sin" nonsense and piss right off.

Being a cheater is low. Proud to say I may be abrasive, if not a bit of an asshole; but I'm neither dishonest nor a cheat.

That said, what bothers me the most about this situation is that these two were clearly caught. Instead of owning it and apologizing immediately, they lied, attempted to gaslight (I believe that's how this would be used) anyone with a pair of eyes and reason into believing what we saw wasn't reality.

THAT is an incredibly widespread problem in today's world. The inability to admit one's fault and own it without blaming others. Yet, somehow, it's a prevalent and effect tactic.

What is most tragic is that it makes any attempt at an apology hollow. It's coerced, rehearsed, and meaningless. You wished to carry on without consequence until the truth was so undeniable that generations yet born could even see it. To not pause at any point, self-reflect and admit wrong, all while accusing others of wrong doing, is near sociopathic.

Like I said, 75% of people are full of shit. All it takes is the correct topic to bring the stink out.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

What's wrong with Proctor? kid is only 20 yrs old

- Film? Same issues that Dawand had/has
- Metrics? Same issues that Dawand & Jordan Mailata have.
- History? Bama tackles under Saban are huge and do not translate to the NFL. Especially in pass pro. Lots of conversions to OG, most not even successful.

He's in the danger zone of Height/Weight combo. Of the top 25 OTs in the NFL, only 6 exceed the green zone. Of those 6, only 1 is both height/weight redzone - Mailata, and he was a 7th round pick. Proctor also had significant issues with weight early in the 2025 season that bogged him down. Those issues only serve to play hell on the body. So injuries that may not have been an issue, tend to reveal themselves at the NFL. (Again, reference Dawand with similar issues)

By the numbers, he is a historic risk.

Ohio State had long been searching for a ball-handling maestro to support the backcourt. Givens is the answer, as he enjoyed a 51.1% assist rate as a sophomore at Memphis.

He should give the Buckeyes a boost offensively overall. His 55.1% true shooting percentage was well above average last year, and he also scored 14.7 points/40.

Givens struggled with turnovers last season, turning in a near 16% turnover rate. In addition, his 6.5% defensive rebounding rate would’ve been last on the team for Jake Diebler’s Buckeyes last season, outside of Puff Johnson.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

The OT class isn't great.

- Proctor is a no go.
- Fano is wildly overrated
- Lomu is a great athlete but needs a full season of development
- Mauigoa's struggles against NoD alone concern me.

Maybe Carnell & Blake Miller?

I'm pretty disappointed with the overall shape of this class. Very weak in some areas.
