It's not the stemming or shifts that's being made illegal. If another defensive player flinches to simulate the snap in concert with that to draw a false start, that's now illegal. I'm actually ok with this.

They're also trying to eliminate the gamesmanship with defensive substitutions by saying the defenders have to substitute with an athletic pace, which i'd also be all for in the B1G.

Old BP football coaches, I’m sure you taught your offensive lineman to hold their butts still until the snap - one of the first things taught in football.
Doesn’t matter how the defense shifts, fakes a stunt, stands or drops down, you hold still.
Now that’s all gone.

You just know that coaches are going to teach their offensive lineman to jump as soon as they see a defensive opponent, shifting and resetting position (stemming).

No offense to @BigWoof31 but somehow this doesn't surprise me given how the SEC SEC SEC nerds are getting desperate to return to the top of the sport. Those in power can't stand the Big Ten zoomed right past them once paying players became actually legal.

I think it's stupid a CONFERENCE can make a rule like this, but of course it's a Georgia fan complaining about it. With all the talent they have, the fact that they rely on this gimmicky bullshit so much is pathetic. The SEC should make a rule enforce the rule that coaches need to keep their Kirby Smart asses on the sidelines and not on the fucking numbers for every play.
