2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Interesting. It's a big stretch to say OSU's roster is comparable to that of Kentucky and BYU - pretty sure those programs spent a ton more on NIL. Louisville also reportedly spent big. NC State beat out OSU for star F Darrion Williams. IU supposedly spent $10M for their roster this season which would be more than OSU by far. Money's not everything, but maybe they don't need to use a "preseason roster grade" to evaluate players after the regular season has been completed?

Oregon was picked #5 in the B1G preseason poll, with OSU 9th, can't imagine how their roster would rate as worse than OSU's in that scenario. It appears "preseason roster grade" rates OSU's players as roughly tied for 3rd-best in the B1G, in the same ballpark as Illinois and UCLA and behind only UM and Purdue, which is a vast overrating of the OSU roster compared to the preseason beat writer's poll. I would say the Buckeyes preseason roster grade should put them in the same vicinity as Iowa. Seems to me a lot of bullshit went into the "preseason roster grade" metric.

"Joining Indiana in the $10 million club are Arkansas, BYU, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, St. John’s and Texas Tech.

Two more Big Ten schools – Purdue and UCLA – are expected to spend $8 million on their rosters." https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrFFUa457BpM9IBEQAPxQt.;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzIEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Ny/RV=2/RE=1774410937/RO=10/RU=https://www.si.com/college/indiana/basketball/report-indiana-basketball-is-in-the-10-million-club-01jscryv0nc0/RK=2/RS=6LncaeVA8vqklPqD9GXoDD60W_g-

Well the issue the raiders went and made a bunch of deals based on the deal going through and then they went nah we knew he would have failed the physical always but now we are using that to not. Now the arguement is should the raiders have waited but by waiting they also risk loosing out on people.
Probably Crosby puts them way over the salary cap now.

C Ivan Njegovan (Official Thread)

Not disagreeing, as when compared to Tilly, appears to be a world of difference. Like how Tilly works with his back to the basket, as well as facing up. That is area of C development (anywhere and anybody). He's gotta get more physical, have watched him get blocked out, and simply stand there and accept it, rather than spinning around, and now blocking out his man. Plus, leads to 'puppy guarding' (daughter's term), around the rim, and not going out to challenge his opponent. Cannot wait to see how he develops, and assuming we get the Baylor transfer back next year, how that translates into blocks and rebounds. Go Bucks!

Just sayin': It sounds like Diebler expects his to came back next season......8D

Bucknuts, 6 Jan 26: Diebler said the one thing that could impact Ojianwuna's status this season is if an ongoing lawsuit is settled and it is ruled that college players will go from four to five years of eligibility. That would mean that Ojianwuna would be allowed to play this season and still come back next year.
"Unless some of this litigation settles to where there's this extra year and we know that, we're getting really close to kind of having to make a decision on that," Diebler said.

Yeah, that preseason roster grade needs to be looked at more critically. Does it over-value offense vs. defense?
Based on this guy’s analysis, we should have been preseason top-15.
Yeah and it also doesn't feel like accounts for injuries. So Tilly, Noel, Mobley etc being gone where we lost a game we may have won with them is counted as underachieving.
