Anyone we bring in will likely be a co-OC anyway, unless it's a big name. If a guy like JT is 5 stars at everything other than play-calling experience, it wouldn't be a bad move. We have one of the best play-callers in the game sitting in the office next door, ready to take over if he doesn't like how it's going. I'd rather bring in someone young and bright rather than a Kelly/Daboll type that would likely only stick around for a season. Whoever it is just has to give us the 8 years that Hartline was on the staff. :biggrin:

Couple UA Game Media Day Notes:
5* WR Commit Jamier Brown tells Wiltfong a ton of schools are hitting up since the Hartline news, and that he wants to get down to TX for a visit - Don't be surprised by news of him taking a few visits this spring. He committed super early and never really got a chance to explore around. I have no worry with him. This is just what happens with Top10 5*'s. Easton Royal, committed to TX, said he's also going to be taking visits this spring.
“I’m seeing the process out. I love the culture, and they make you feel welcome. Everybody there is big on development. I want to be developed into a first-round, top-five draft pick. And I feel Ohio State can get me there.”

The Miami offense depends on a pouty punk bitch QB dumping it off within five yards of the LOS (because he can’t consistently not throw interceptions when he tries to go deep, again, see Louisville game) to an 18 year old for a massive portion of their offensive production.

The Miami run game has been mid all season and stumbled into success against an A&M team that was compromising their run defense to sell out on blitzes to create pressure.

Ohio State’s defense should have a massive, massive advantage against Miami’s offense.

At least I wasn't crazy when he came out of college. Just took him a few years to find his mojo in the NFL. True, the Browns didn't give him much opportunity, but he didn't show much when he did get a chance. Biggest problem is that they gave up too quickly.

Simon makes 15 tackles​

It was a mostly bad day for the Arizona Cardinals’ defense in their 37-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, but Cody Simon was a bright spot.

The rookie linebacker from Ohio State made a whopping 15 tackles, the second-most among NFL players in Week 17, including his first career sack as he took down Joe Burrow on an explosive blitz to the quarterback.


Simon, who made his seventh consecutive start for the Cardinals on Sunday, has now recorded 68 total tackles in his rookie season after he was selected in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft.

Eichenberg lays the boom on special teams​

Another former Ohio State linebacker also made a big impression in Week 17 as Tommy Eichenberg laid one of the week’s biggest hits in the Las Vegas Raiders’ loss to the New York Giants.

On a punt return by Gunner Olszewski early in the third quarter, Eichenberg barreled into the Giants receiver at full speed, knocking him backward with a thundering collision that could be heard on TV.


Eichenberg also recorded a tackle on the game’s opening kickoff and another tackle on an Olszewski punt return, bringing him to 21 special teams tackles for the season, the third-most in the NFL this year.


Eichenberg also recorded two tackles on defense in the Raiders’ 34-10 loss to the Giants, which dropped Las Vegas to 2-14 on the season and put the Raiders in position to have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

It's not weird he considers going back. It's weird in that he is already in the program and going on a visit instead of you know knowing what it's like and talking to the coaches etc
