2027 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

DT Jalen Brewster visiting Ohio State this weekend. And is announcing his commitment after the 1st quarter. Wouldn't it be a waste of time if he knows that he is committing to TT or A&M or Oregon? Really hopeful about this one.
LB Jared Curry is also visiting this weekend with his parents. Another guy that I would love to see us land.
Brewster is announcing his commitment after the first quarter lol? Where have you heard this?

Ohio State's label as “Wide Receiver U” has never been more true.
In the latest bit of recognition for an Ohio State wide receiver playing in the pros, Emeka Egbuka took home NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honors following a fantastic first four games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Egbuka has already racked up 18 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns, putting him on pace for a 1,000-yard receiving season in his first NFL campaign. He leads all rookies in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. His career began with a bang, hauling in two touchdowns, including a game-winner with 59 seconds left, in his debut against the Atlanta Falcons.

A highlight-reel 77-yard touchdown catch and run boosted Egbuka to his first career 100-yard receiving game in his most recent outing against the Philadelphia Eagles, as he finished with four catches for 101 yards and the touchdown. Tampa Bay is off to a 3-1 start with his help, leading the NFC South by one game over the Falcons.

Egbuka was drafted No. 19 overall by the Buccaneers in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, marking the fourth straight year a wide receiver from Brian Hartline's room at Ohio State was selected in the first round. The Buckeyes have had five total receivers taken on day one in that four-year stretch, six if you include Jameson Williams, who spent his first two collegiate seasons at Ohio State before transferring to Alabama for his third and final. One of those first-round selections, Garrett Wilson, won NFL Rookie of the Year honors with the New York Jets in 2022.
Egbuka is on track to follow in his footsteps.

OT Phillip Daniels (Official Thread)

‘He’s a little different this week’ – Ohio State starter is a man on a mission heading into game against Minnesota

He’s going to have a bit on his mind heading into this one.

The Ohio State Buckeyes roster isn’t impacted as heavily this year with transfers last year, but there are a couple who are making an impact. Ohio State’s biggest get in the portal was former Purdue TE Max Klare, who hasn’t exactly been able to get going with the Buckeyes. Ethan Onianwa was expected to be a starting tackle for the Buckeyes, but his job was won by a player who may be the Buckeyes’ most impactful transfer thus far.

Buckeyes RT Phillip Daniels is looking forward to playing Minnesota on Saturday

When Ohio State landed Daniels from Minnesota it was figured that he would start at one tackle spot and Onianwa would man the other. That didn’t happen and the rise of Austin Siereveld as the left tackle is a big reason why. Daniels won the battle on the right side and has been a positive for the Buckeyes through four games. On Saturday, Daniels will go up against his old team.

“We love the intensity, we love the passion, we love how hard he plays,” Ryan Day said earlier in the week. “He gives us an edge. This will be a big week for him, playing against his old team. But the guys appreciate what he brings every day. He brings a work ethic and a toughness.”

Ohio State is coming off a solid road win over Washington and returns home for its second Big Ten game against Minnesota. It’ll be the second night game of the season for the Buckeyes with the first one being against the Ohio Bobcats. Heading into the game, even Daniels’ teammates see something about him.

“He’s a little different this week,” Siereveld said on Wednesday. “He’s ready to go out there and compete on Saturday.”

“It’s a lot of fun for him,” LG Luke Montgomery shared. “I guess he’s been talking to some of the offensive linemen guys there the past few weeks and stuff like that. I think for him it’s pretty special, so it’ll be really cool for him.”

2026 MD DB Khmari Bing is a Buckeye!!!

Ohio State football making move to land Big Ten commit visiting this weekend

Will Ryan day be able to get this done?

There are two known official visitors for Saturday, including standout cornerback Khmari Bing - linebacker Jacob Curry is the other. The 6-0, 190-pounder has been committed to Maryland since August 2024, but Day and the Buckeyes are working to get him to change his mind. Could a memorable visit in Columbus lead to him flipping his decision?

Maryland commit Khmari Bing is all set to visit Ohio State football this weekend

The Buckeyes currently hold 21 verbals for the 2026 class, but there's no cornerback on the list just yet. Might Bing end up being CB No. 1 for the '26 haul? That remains to be seen, but a head-turning experience on campus this weekend indeed could send the Buckeyes over the top.

Things aren't going to be easy there, however, as Bing is a standout for the St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, which is about 45 minutes away from the University of Maryland. Not only that, but the Alabama Crimson Tide are also making a move to land Bing as well.

Kalen DeBoer holds a commitment from 5-star St. Frances Academy safety Jireh Edwards, who is doing his part in helping the Tide win out on Bing. Bing has scheduled an official visit with Alabama for early November, with Edwards set to be in his ear until then.

Despite that, Ohio State is getting the first shot at turning his head this weekend and a lopsided win over the Gophers is expected to be posted. It's not going to be easy for Ohio State and the Buckeyes to ultimately sign Bing in December, but how things go in the coming days will surely have a sizable impact on the CB's recruitment one way or another. Keep an eye on him moving forward, Ohio State fans.

2025 Season: Are You Ready For Some Football?

Predicting every undefeated college football team's first loss: Will anyone beat Ohio State, Oregon or Miami?

How many teams will finish without a blemish during the regular season?

buckeyes.jpg

Ohio State

Projected first loss: None

The Buckeyes have made both of their early-season tests look easy through five weeks, downing Texas in the opener before another dominant defensive showing over the weekend at Washington. Illinois, Penn State and Michigan are the three top 25 teams left on the slate for the Buckeyes and they'll be at least a touchdown favorite in each of those matchups prior to Indianapolis.

Oregon

Projected first loss: None

Unless Indiana catches the Ducks sleeping next week or Oregon stumbles in the regular-season finale at Washington, Dan Lanning's team is going to reach the Big Ten Championship Game without a loss for the second straight campaign. Saturday night's double-overtime victory at Penn State was predicted by most to be Oregon's first setback of the season, but Dante Moore and Dillon Thieneman had other plans.

CBS Sports shares likely reality for Ohio State vs Illinois, Penn State, Michigan

There isn't a team that looks nearly as dominant through the first month of the 2025 season. If there's going to be an undefeated champion, it'll be the Buckeyes.

Ohio State’s Defense is “Bought In” to Matt Patricia's Scheme, Thinks the Buckeyes Are a “Team Coming Together and Being Stronger As a Group”

158370_h.jpg

On Ohio State's trip to Washington

  • "Traveling across the country, dealing with that, was actually a great experience for us."
  • Day said the experience brought the team "closer together."
  • "Woke up and played with great energy in the game."
  • "Certainly a lot of things to grow from."
  • Day said Ohio State "did a lot of work" to prepare for the West Coast travel.

On Ohio State's defense against Washington's offense

  • "I thought it was a good plan going in."
  • Day said Demond Williams Jr., Jonah Coleman and Denzel Boston presented a "challenge" for Ohio State's defense.
  • Day said Ohio State's defensive line and secondary performed well in the matchup. "Really, really well done there."
  • "Good situational football."
  • Day said Ohio State's defensive performance "builds confidence."

On Matt Patricia's defense

  • "I think Matt does a really good job of changing up looks."
  • "The guys are believing in it. They're bought in. They're playing with really good confidence."
  • "When you see success, it builds confidence."
  • Day said Caden Curry, Sonny Styles, Arvell Reese, Jermaine Mathews and Davison Igbinosun "are putting in the hard work and seeing it pay off."
  • "We got a long way to go, but you're seeing the confidence and you're seeing these guys play for each other. That's important to see at this point in the season, the team coming together and being stronger as a group because now more than ever, it's easy to worry about yourself, whether it's your playing time, your NIL, your situation — all of these different things come into play. The best team is gonna win, so we all have to sacrifice. It's important to see guys gelling together as a unit."

On Ohio State's defensive line racking up stats against Washington

  • Day said Ohio State's pass rush and pass coverage "work hand in hand."
  • Day said Ohio State's defensive line produced because "they corralled Williams" which "led to a huge amount of TFLs and sacks because they understood how it works."
  • Day praised Larry Johnson for the mindset he instilled in Ohio State's defensive linemen to "play as one."

On Ohio State's penalties against Washington

  • "It's about discipline."
  • "We know we're the ones in control of that."
  • "When we see something like that, we make sure to call it out and get it addressed."

On Ohio State's game plan to beat Washington

  • Day said the Buckeyes leaned on the team's defense to beat the Huskies, which Day noted had won 22 consecutive home games entering the Ohio State matchup.
  • Day said Ohio State "controlled the ball on offense for the majority of the game," explaining that the Buckeyes dominated the time of possession despite only having six possessions in the contest.
  • Day said Ohio State has to continue to improve its red zone offense and put more than three points on the board when it gets inside the opponent's 20-yard line.

On Ohio State's preparation for Washington, execution in the game

  • Day said "every day is an opportunity to earn trust" for Ohio State's players. He said the Buckeyes must continue to work hard with each rep, "whether it's in practice or in a game."
  • Day said 18 of Ohio State's 22 starters graded out a champion against Washington. "That's not easy."
  • "When you watch the film, our guys played hard."

On Julian Sayin

  • "I thought he did a good job. The No. 1 goal is to win. He took care of the football. He threw some really nice balls, was accurate again, did a nice job scrambling."
  • Day said Sayin made a "veteran move" when he put Ohio State into field goal range with a 10-yard scramble. "We were able to make the kick, which at that point I think put us up 14 points. That's really good football. Those are things he's gonna continue to learn on. Every time he's out there, he's learning more and more."
  • "He's seeing it. He is. He sees what's going on. He's very intelligent. He's getting stronger and stronger every day, so that's encouraging. He's building confidence in himself, and I think his teammates are getting more and more confident with him behind the center."

On Ohio State's wide receivers as blockers

  • "They're working hard on the perimeter to create touches for their teammates."
  • "When you see our guys, they have to be complete players."
  • "That shows they're not only willing to be great teammates, but it increases their value."

On Aaron Scott Jr., Ohio State's special teams

  • Day praised Scott for his performance on special teams against Washington.
  • "When you look at the guys who are playing special teams, they find a way on the field."
  • "If you can't find a way on special teams here, it's very, very difficult to get on the field."
  • Day said Ohio State's special teams must continue to improve as the Buckeyes navigate the Big Ten schedule.

On Jeremiah Smith

  • Day praised Smith for his hard work in putting his teammates in a position to succeed.
  • "When you see him blocking, when you see him running routes, even when he's double-covered, he knows how important he is."
  • "When he's in a game, he makes all other 10 guys better. That's the sign of a great player."

On walk-on wide receiver Nolan Baudo

  • Day said Baudo addressed the team before practice on Wednesday.
  • "He had a great motivational speech. He's kind of the glue. Man, he's gonna make a great coach if that's what he decides to do. ... You can see certain guys that would make great coaches. A lot of them, they understand the game and, more importantly, they know how to connect with people."
  • "Some of these guys are smart and decide they don't want to get into coaching and that they actually want to do something a little more normal."

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Jake Diebler Has “Big Expectations” for Second Year As Ohio State’s Coach, Expects Improvement in Several Key Areas

“There were some clear deficiencies that we had. I think first and foremost it started with rebounding on both sides of the ball. ... Another issue for us was our free-throw rate of our opponents. We were the worst in the league at sending people to the free-throw line."

“In this league, you have to be able to change in the flow of the game. You can't change who you are. But you've got to be able to adjust. We struggled at times to do that. ... Our assist rate in practice has been a major improvement, major improvement.”– Jake Diebler on where Ohio State will be better this season

“I love coaching A'mare, and he plays the game with a joy and an eagerness to get better. I think that level of humility and just consistency is rare for young players. And so he's certainly talented, he's got some great physical tools. But he has had, not just one or two high-level practices or moments since June, but he's had multiple stretches of high-level basketball and productive basketball, which is equally hard for young players to do early on.”– Jake Diebler on A'mare Bynum
