Chip Kelly (OC Northwestern)

When South Florida hired current Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline as its new head coach earlier this month, there was immediate speculation that Kelly could return to Ohio State as OC. His landing at Northwestern, however, suggests a reunion with the Buckeyes was never in the cards. Kelly also reportedly interviewed for Georgia Tech and North Carolina’s offensive coordinator vacancies, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

It’s still expected that Ryan Day will hire an experienced offensive coordinator to call plays for the Buckeyes in 2026. For the rest of the current season, Day is taking over play calling for the College Football Playoff, though Hartline will remain on staff as wide receivers coach through the end of Ohio State’s CFP run.

Thread of What You've Eaten, Cooked and/or Drunk Lately

Very true. There are a lot of decent Bourbons/Ryes around $30. For me Scotch at the lower end is $45/$50.

yeah $30-$40 can get you a good bottle of Bourbon no problem.

Scotch on the other hand even at $50, you're kinda pushing your luck. Maybe 20 years ago $50 would get you something decent, but not so much today.

the other difference is you can drink a very nice expensive Bourbon, then go back to the cheap one with no issue.
once you start climbing the Scotch ladder though, the lower rungs start tasting like ditchwater in comparison.

Bourbon is also on a huge decline right now and there are a lot of bottles out there that never used to be available to the casual buyer.

I'm not a connoisseur to know these types of things.
I usually just pick out a bottle when I go to the liquor store (or a gas station when I'm back home in Louisiana)

2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

My one and only comment in this thread. (Completely uninformed, maybe ESPN will hire me).

We have the personnel on D to stop their run game. Pletcher had a good game after wearing down A&M. But if the D can slow/stop it, then Beck becomes the main weapon on O to distribute. Beck needs to be quick and precise, like he's trying to get with another OF girl. It won't happen, but I would love to see Caleb on Toney all game. He's the main weapon. They have a few other guys in the passing game to help. But, meh.

Their D is what could keep them in the game. Great DL play. They put a lot of pressure on the OL and disrupt shit. No clue on their LB's. The DB's have been solid and can cause turnovers. OSU OL play will determine the outcome more than anything. If Julian has time, game over.

Special teams hopefully doesn't need to play a role. Our punter doesn't outkick the coverage and needs to stop Toney if he gets a crack. FG's, F*#$ me. It's indoors, but still.

OSU 31 - Miami, FL 13
Doug and Bill show does great with their breakdowns. On their defense they described the DL is great obviously but doesn’t do as well with gap runs which we do a lot of. They also said while their nickle back might be their best defensive player their LBs are not good in coverage. Then oddly had not much to say (positive or negative) about their secondary otherwise.

To be fair, the only time I've heard anyone talk is Jeremiah. And the few times JJ has talked shit he's backed it up emphatically. Wished he would've chirped before the B1G Championship. :slappy:
Very true! I suppose it didn’t go well for AM so I’m a little unnerved by a couple of our guys talking a bit. They’re not saying anything wild but for sure more than normal.

McDonald basically predicted a win vs Miami and said he can’t be blocked. Not exactly great.

That’s the game. We can’t block them then this is a 4 quarter game. If we can then this will be over by the end of the 3rd.

An underrated concern is the longer layoff and I have to admit our guys are kind of talking a bit while Miami is just saying the right things.

Not sure why we are talking about “ going to go back to back” or “no one can block me” or “we have something for them” or saying we have new things in defense etc but it’s a bit out of norm. We aren’t normally the team talking but we are. It’s not a lot but it’s for sure more than typical.

So a bit paranoid that we are kind of working ourselves up a bit. I can absolutely see a way we lose this game. The guys better come into this not taking them lightly. I assure you they don’t GAF about what we did last year and our anger about last game will only help for about the first 2-3 plays.

2027 GA DL David "DJ" Jacobs is a Buckeye!!!

From Georgia.
Dad played for Georgia.
Godfather coached Georgia.
Unexpected for sure. Hopefully it sticks.
UGA was never in this, they didn't want to compete in the NIL bidding war. aTm and Miami will be the main competition.

Per Wiltong:
Mark Pantoni deserves a lot of credit for this one as he handled the conversations all day with Jacobs agency Athletes First.
