We have 20,369 registered members. How many of those members have been active in the last month? Is there a way to track that? If we can identify the number of active members, we can then get a good idea of what is needed from each member to sustain the site.
My guess is not a lot.

Ohio State @ Wisconsin, Saturday Jan. 31, 2pm EST, FOX

The Badgers have a "big 3" of Nick Boyd, John Blackwell and Nolan Winter. Boyd has been in college since the 2020-21 season, and his game has the polish to show for it; additionally, he was a starter on FAU's 2023 Final Four team. Boyd is currently #3 in the B1G in scoring at 20 ppg, which puts him slightly ahead of Bruce Thornton. Blackwell is not far behind at 18.4 (good for 8th in the conference), while Winter is even with Devin Royal at 13.9. Obviously trying to contain Boyd, Blackwell and Winter will be a challenge. That being said, Wisconsin has a team profile that is comparable to OSU overall, with the teams ranking basically even on Kenpom, so you'd like to think this is a game that the Buckeyes have a legitimate chance in.

Ohio State Women's Ice Hockey (2022 WCHA Champions, 2022, 2024 National Champions)

Pretty wild that the top four teams are all B1G.

With our success, I'm shocked that the cheaters haven't rushed to add a team. That's what they did with men's lacrosse. Ignored it for decades when we were irrelevant, but the moment we gained some national prominence, they couldn't add a team fast enough.

We did really well back in the early days of BP doing events (shirt sales, poker tournaments, tailgates, etc). Perhaps we should get back to doing those things again. I wouldn't mind pitching in and helping organize again.

This site has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years. I really would hate to see it go.

2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

I wouldn't play the "what if" game with this team because there have been a handful of close games that OSU has won. I'd say the Buckeyes have prevailed more often than not in games that came down to the wire this season. They had to rally and had just a 1-point lead within the last 30 seconds at Northwestern (won by 4). While it wasn't super close at the end, they had to rally at Rutgers. The Buckeyes had to get a bucket from Tilly in the final possession to beat ND. They had to go to double-OT to beat West Virginia, and OT to beat Minnesota. The other reason I don't look back and wonder "what could have been" is there are plenty of chances looking ahead that offer this team the opportunity to earn their way into the tournament. I feel like they've improved as the season has developed so they have legitimate hopes of earning their way into the field with the games remaining on the schedule, and it's not going to take them performing over their heads to do it.

BuckeyePlanet Calls for Aid! -- Let this be the hour!

No way that was 13 years ago, was it?

I was just talking about that thread with my oldest son and nephew as we just moved to Charlotte. I shared the link with them because they couldn't believe how outrageous it was.

Being down here now, there's a part of me that wants to attend some of the Charlotte Alumni group functions just to talk to some of the people who may have been around for it. It would be kinda cool to connect the "from BP side" to the "Charlotte Alumni side." You have to think that some of them still tell stories about it the same way we do.

Better yet, show up to an event claiming to be the real Giovanni Strassini.

13 years ago and The Strassini Affair still delivers!
I occasionally use one of those phrases outside of BP and people look at me weird! (TBH, they do that anyways)
STRONZO!

Fong says in his latest article that OSU is “in the thick of it” with some top edges to join Jacobs in the class. He says Chris Whitehead has us extremely high on his list. Mentions Rashad Streets as another edge we’re pushing for. Fong says he has a prediction in for Abraham Sesay but mentions we’ll have to see how his process shakes out
Ohio State is all in on Jaxon Dollar at TE and Fong thinks OSU covets Boyle County Kentucky TE Seneca Driver

Guerrieri visiting 5 star safety Honor Fa'alave-Johnson
I would throw whatever money I could at Honor Fa’slave-Johnson. Elite safety and insane speed for returns.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights (official troll of PedSU)

THE reason Rutgers is in the B1G is .. it brings the #1 metro TV market (NYC/Tri-State) on the planet.. THE money maker...
similarly the reason MD is in.. is the #3 metro TV market DC-Balt
The revenue these TV markets provides to B1G is immense.. they actually should get a higher % of TV rev than they do

Plus they help the academic scores of the B1G

Big Ten is giving them $70M/year now for nothing and they’ve managed to be a half billion in the hole since joining.

One of the shocking things is they listed “contributions”, which I’m assuming as donations as $8 million for the last year and a key area for additional revenue.

In the 2023-2024 year Ohio state athletics brought in $52M in donations.

2026 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

Ohio State's 2026 Football Schedule Includes Three of the Five Teams With the Best Odds to Win the National Championship

Oddsmakers agree: Ohio State’s 2026 schedule is a gauntlet.

If the sportsbooks know (and they seem to more times than not), Ohio State’s 2026 schedule will be one of the toughest in college football next fall.

According to consensus odds to win the national championship from DraftKings and FanDuel, the teams with the five best odds to win it all next season include Ohio State (+700) and three of OSU's regular-season opponents: Texas (+700), Indiana (+700) and Oregon (+925).

Notre Dame (+675) is the only team with better odds to win the national championship than Ohio State, Texas and Indiana.

The Buckeyes' schedule also includes USC (35/1) and Michigan (40/1), who are among the top 15 in odds to win it all next season.

Per On3’s composite of nine early preseason rankings from national media outlets, Ohio State – which is ranked as the No. 1 team in the country – is set to face the No. 2 (Indiana), No. 3 (Texas), No. 5 (Oregon), No. 14 (Michigan), No. 15 (USC) and No. 21 (Iowa) teams in 2026, with four of those games coming on the road.
