What a petty challenge in a 13-4 game. And what a BS replay. As Costas said on the MLB Net broadcast, the spirit of the game says Diaz was safe with a double for 150 years of baseball history. A 2B holding a tag until a guy's foot lifts off 2 inches, well after standing on the bag, is what replay should not be about.

Fun stat:

Mitch Moreland now has 7 home runs in 104 at bats versus Cleveland pitching, which is 14.86 AB per HR.

If Mitch Moreland played against the Indians every game, he'd be Manny Ramirez (14.85 AB per HR, 10th best in MLB history).

Chance to put a near dagger in the Royals this weekend.

So odds are they lose 2/3 and keep them in it.

Ryan Merritt gets the start tonight (as result of injuries) against Jason Vargas. Vargas has been awful since the AS break with a 6.62 ERA (after a 2.62 pre-break ERA) and batters hitting .305 against him
