Obviously the balance of power in baseball can change at the drop of a hat, but I have no reason to believe this team won't be very good next season.

They haven't had a losing season since Francona arrived, Brantley will be back along with Salazar and Carrasco, there are more pieces in the prospect chest to make a move in the offseason or trade deadline if need be. They're in a good spot.

I believe next years team will be good. Do they need to replace some guys yes, but not they need a complete team rebuild. Pitching is their strength just need like 2 professional hitters added to the team.

I tend to feel this way, as well. The major difference between the '06 and '08 collapses (teams with expectations) is that those teams were managed by Eric Wedge and this one will be headed by Terry Francona. If, and it's a big if, they can stay healthy, they should be in the thick of it again.

Still shitty.

Still [Mark May]ty.

Well, there's also the issue of regression. Is Jose Ramirez a legit offensive weapon now, or is he really a .220 hitter that went on a heater for a year?

I'd wager that chisenhall is never going to touch .280 again, and the hack job he did in September and the playoffs is who he is.

Naquin may be a total washout if he doesn't get it together.

Both carasco and Salazar were great the first half of the year, and not good after the break.

The elements are there for this team to shit the bed next year.

Yeah, what the fuck was I thinking? 79-83, at best. Still shitty.

I dont have much hope for the offense next year.

Its basically Kipnis, Lindor, Santana and a cast of nobodies

Who knows if Brantley will ever be the same, right now ill assume he has Grady Sizemore syndrome until proven otherwise.

Jose Ramirez had a great season but I dont think we can realistically expect a repeat.

Chisenhack is well Chisenhack

Guyer can hit lefties but is cooked against righties.

Im convinced Naquin is offense Jeremy Sowers, the league has figured him out.

If they are stupid and fork over money to Napoli he's not going to hit 30+ HR with 10p RBI again

Whoever plays catcher is a lost cause.

Basically we are relying on them to get lucky with bargain FA signings again.

Francona's decision last night to load the bases in extra innings with two intentional walks didn't pay off.

I'm not a baseball guy - can someone more savvy tell me what the logic was with that?
Set up the double play, at least when they walked Rizzo to go first and second, because there was one out. When it was second and third, you walk the guy to set up the force out at home and also the double play
