Brian "Body Kount" Kelly (Temu Ed Orgeron)

I've heard personal stories and he's been an asshole for awhile

Brian Kelly has already been written and sung about by August Campbell

Were you bo-rn an asshole, or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine, 'cause you're an ass-hole tonight

Yes you're an A-SSHOLE, and don't you try to blame it on me
You deserve all the credit, you're an asshole tonight

You were an assho-le yesterday, you're an ass-hole tonight
And I've got a feeling, you'll be an asshole the rest of your life

And I was talking to your mother, just the other night
I told her I thought you were an asshole, she said "yes, I think you're right"

And a-ll your friends are assholes, 'cause you've known them your whole life
And somebo-dy told me, you've got an asshole for a wife

Were you bo-rn an asshole, or did you work at it your whole life?
Either way it worked out fine, 'cause you're an ass-hole tonight

OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion, HC at USF, Buckeye OC for this postseason)

I'd say the past 6 months should be an excellent reason to not put much stock in the PSU projections game.
I most sincerely hope so
I think Hartline takes a HC job this offseason, but I don’t think it’s Penn State.

He has GREAT relationships in South Florida from recruiting but also his time with the Dolphins.

I really don’t want to see him go (…hell, I wanted him as OSU HC and to let Day go prior to running the table in CFP).

I think he lands a job in the southeast that will play to his strengths of recruiting South Florida talent. JMO.
See above. If he has to fly the coop, just don't let it be Penn State. That would not be good for us.

There is at least one prediction market that has Hartline as a top 3 choice to land the PSU job.

wasnt freeman a multi year coordinator though? not just 1 year?
'16 - Purdue DC
'17-20 - Cinci DC
'21 - Notre Dame DC

That last one is not only vital, but the real reason he got the job is the rarest of playoff berths for Cincy in a 4 team format.

I think every year we play these guys I expect us to win by 2+ scores and every damn year it’s way too close.

This game all depends on two things. Turnovers and running the ball. If we turn the ball over and give them decent gains on the ground then we’ll be just wanting this game to end when we are up 21-17 in the 4th. If we stop the run and don’t do dumb things like turn the ball over then we are going to win 38-7 or around there.

I expect this game to be closer though because I’ve learned my lesson expecting anything different with this one. We also don’t do well when everything seems to be in our favor. Remember vs Oregon when they were down both their best defensive players and we still lost at home? Then obviously last year we lose as 24 point favorites to a team that was without their best defensive and offensive players at home.

We aren’t going to lose I think but I’m expecting a 28-17 kind of game.

I will add, I can absolutely see a way we lose this game. I don’t think we will but this is a team with some good players and if they play their best and we take them lightly we can drop this one.

I'm with those who say this is going to be a dress rehearsal for The Game or a version of some of the sins of the recent past.

Penn State has to run, even if we stop it early, they have to stick with it. Also, on paper, they have a good pass defense.

Those are the two components of the recipe to get a Day team into a style fight and beat them.

Determined run game and defense keeps enough of a lid on Day's passing attack to keep it close enough to keep running. Lather, rinse, repeat. If we give them help with turnovers and penalties, it's white knuckle time.

This is always the second least favorite/most nerve racking game of the year for me. Good guys pull it out 21-17.

2026 TX DL Jimmy-Phrisco Alo-Suliafu (North Carolina Signee)

Additionally, Ohio State will host North Carolina defensive line commit Jimmy-Phrisco Phillips (who’s also known as Jimmy Alo-Suliafu) on an official visit this weekend. The three-star defensive lineman was just offered by Ohio State earlier this month, but the quick scheduling of an official visit suggests substantial interest on both sides. He’s been committed to UNC since April, but as with Brown and Timmons, Ohio State has a chance to capitalize on another program’s struggles, as the Tar Heels have also lost four straight games.

Phillips is ranked as the No. 462 overall prospect and No. 52 defensive lineman in the 2026 class. At 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds, he plays both defensive end and defensive tackle for Jordan High School (Fulshear, Texas), and could end up at either position at the next level.

2026 PA DB Jay Timmons has signed!!!

Brown won’t be the only flip target on campus this weekend. Ohio State will also host one of the top 20 cornerbacks in the 2026 class, Jay Timmons. The No. 164 overall prospect in the class, Timmons has been committed to Florida State since June and is the son of former Seminole star Lawrence Timmons, but he’s expressed interest in Ohio State since the Buckeyes offered him in September.

Florida State’s four-game losing streak only helps the Buckeyes’ chances of convincing Timmons this weekend that he should take his talent to Columbus. Ohio State is looking for at least one more cornerback, if not two, to join Jordan Thomas in the 2026 class, so Timmons will be one of the Buckeyes’ top recruiting priorities this weekend.
