NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

I heard an analyst mentioning Parsons' toxic aura - lying down on a gurney during a game, sitting on the grass in practice or something,... checks out, for a State Penn'er. Apparently, his teammates are likely glad he's gone. And if iirc, he's injury prone, so he's not consistently contributing.

Packers got more than they gave, but they don't have a 1st round pick for 2 years unless they trade for one. Bad trade for both sides, lol.

Latest Gus Johnson interview shows he should never announce Ohio State vs. Michigan

He might not be able to hold off on his bias based on this latest interview.

A recent Gus Johnson interview shows why he shouldn't do the Ohio State football vs. Michigan game any longer

Anyone who knows about Johnson knows that he is a Michigan guy. He usually does a pretty good job of hiding his bias during those calls, but a recent interview revealed that might be harder for him now than it was in the past with TTUN on a four-game winning streak in the rivalry.

During a recent Michigan event, Johnson was interviewed and was bragging about how much he loved calling Michigan games, especially during this win streak.

"Now, it feels like this is a Renaissance. A golden age. Four straight wins...I had a chance to watch JJ McCarthy, a guy they said couldn't throw the deep ball, throw it down there, and he's a bad dude. Don making those big plays against Ohio State, in playoff games, championship games. It's just been a wonderful ride."

Johnson clearly has a rooting interest in those battles between the Ohio State football program and TTUN. If the quality of his overall broadcasting hadn't started to slip, this may not anger Buckeye fans as much as it does right now. But FOX probably should start looking for someone else for that top spot.

Johnson has been an excellent broadcaster for a long time, but his time as one of the best might be coming to an end. It might be time for someone else to get the privilege to call Ohio State football games.
that's some click bait nonsense. People are allowed to have favorites. It's whether or not they can still do their jobs, which Gus clearly can. you cannot tell at all who he roots for unless Joel hijacks the broadcast to mention it. his joy for the sport is effusive and doesn't wane when he's asked to bring it to covering a rival team.

Herbie would do well to study what Gus does.

I realize we're militarizing ourselves to cancel everything always so we can feel important and heard (and never ever consider what is broken to enable that need and make it so central to our daily living), but this is one of the worst examples I've come across.

If someone wants to complain about Gus being a bit too much for a preseason NFL game or a 40 point win over sparty, have at it.

but pretending he cannot do his job because he likes another school? absolutel foolishness.
