Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

Ohio State was called for holding twice. The first time was in the end zone and would have resulted in a safety but for offsetting penalties, that is, had Texas not grabbed a fistful of face-mask first causing the face-masked victim to hold. The next, and enforced, holding penalty was really iffy.

Associate HC/DL Coach Larry Johnson Sr. (National Champion)

Naw, LeAllen went to Texas a year or so ago. Believe he was made DL coordinator, which is better than waiting-in-the-wings at tOSU. Now just maybe, he's in Texas to get some seasoning, and then when LJ Sr hangs 'em up, he'll be brought back at DL coach here. Although the Texas DL was highly touted to be 'best' in the land, and our ragtag group of OL guys pretty much shut them down......

Game Thread Grambling State at #1 tOSU, Sat. Sept. 6th, 3:30 ET on BTN

No nickname can best the 'Banana slugs'. Santa Cruz, CA. Anyway, on topic, will be interested to see how the speed of Grambling matches up with tOSU folk. Am betting on the Buckeyes running some fly routes (doesn't really matter, Jeremiah, Carnel, or Inness). Am betting that there will be more than several chunk yardage catches (let alone TDs) come out of this game.
That’s what I’d like to see… those 20+ yard chunk plays. Get down the field quick.

I get needing to work 2 tight ends and moving people off the ball etc. but that can be worked on in the red zone. Getting down the field in a hurry would be something I’d take away as a positive.

On defense? Just stopping the run.

Ross Bjork (OSU AD)

Have seen 'resume builders' like this many times. Not trying to make things better (unless incidently), but want to make changes to put on his resume. Not content to play 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', want to make changes for change sake. No Sloopy? What on earth does this impact? Was glad the band played v Texas anyway. Trying to use the Victory bell more? by ringing before game or during good plays? Once again, how does that impact anything? Wasn't he hired because at A&M he was considered a "NIL expert"? Haven't seen anything good coming out of NIL since he came aboard. Have I missed anything?

Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

Reading more on Surly, lots of complaining about penalties. But not that they were bad calls, just bad penalties. Also, lots of "why can't we win the big games." Tejas fanbase surprisingly self aware. Really down on Arch. That will turn around quickly after they beat up on a few bad teams.
I saw a lot of whining about Ohio State holding and it not being called. When Ohio State was called for holding (I think the score was still 14-0) right before punting to Texas, I think their fans just said that it was to make the stats look more even.

Lou Holtz (Official Thread)

I think he just hates Ryan Day lol
Maybe he just likes Notre Dame.
Since he left ESPN, I can think of 3 times I heard of him or from him: once before the 2023 matchup between Ohio State and Notre Dame, once before the national championship game in 2024, and.... now. And I don't even remember what he said recently. Did he come out in favor of Doritos ketchup-flavored chips?
