Indiana Hoosiers (2025 National Champions)

A lot of posts in this thread have not aged well. Indiana is a very solid team. All year, people have been posting about how weak their schedule is, without realizing that the accusations about Ohio State's schedule also had some credibility.

They can be beaten by Ohio State, but Ohio State needs to accept that the matchup with Indiana may present the toughest challenge that they will get this year, if they both win through. Coach Day needs to get his offense to put their heads totally into getting ready for this run. In my mind, that means someone else has to take charge of it and run it in these final three games.

It's not easy to really commit when people blow smoke up your backside all year. This loss may be exactly what was needed to fuel a repeat NC for Ohio State.

Notre Dame (football only discussion)

And expand the scope of controversy.

There are always more 2-3 loss teams than undefeated or 1 loss teams, so the more you expand, the more teams will whine

FSU was the main whiner in 2023. UGA had a case that year but they accepted their defeat in the CG (which used to mean something regarding playoff implications).

2025, we have ND, Vandy, Texas, BYU, and probably others I can’t even think of off the top of my head.
Time for a college football version of the NIT? It would attract eyeballs.

2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Look at the pairings, and am a tad scared with either one tOSU will face. Guess it's more not paying attention to other teams, other than those in the B10 other than now. Each and every game on out from here will be more like tOSU v Xichigan than not. Guess have to let the coaches spend time in the tape room, watching the opponent's games, in order to formulate/foment D and O gameplans. Hopefully the loss to IU will light the fires that burn in the hearts of players/coaches like last year's team. Go Bucks!

My favorite dumb saying is “Either they’re as good as I think they are, or they’re not”.

I have zero doubt that OSU wanted to win and played their ass off against Indiana. If that was anything more than their C game, though, then they’re definitely not as good as I thought.

There have to be a few tweaks they can work into the passing game to make it less predictable.

My only concern is how mentally locked in Brian Hartline will be coaching the offense. And with time split at two programs, I'm not optimistic.

I wonder if him staying with the team gives the players a morale boost but his USF obligations allow for Day and whoever else to do a lot more game planning. The best of both worlds.

That’s not to say he’s a bad play designer or caller, but they need better of both to get back to the title game and win it.
