First one whatever the right way to say it is, they confused him by switching faster than he’s seen it so far. There is no such thing as "delaying reads" There are progressions that aren't viable as you make reads. There are muddled reads. But there is no "delay" you get into your progression and/or triangle... the difference is the speed.
When your time to throw is shortened, your processor must speed up.
There are ways I agree. But I saw missed execution on the OL and QB early and late. There was a collective, top-down failure last night on the offense (sans WRs)
The OL getting their asses whipped is absolutely a foundational issue. How we see Julian progress in playoff prep will reveal more. But there were things scUM threw at him that IU did as well. Both defenses were successful in those deployments, IU especially because of their DL.
Special teams hasn't been very special for the Browns this year. It bit them again today, it cost them the Jets game and it's just about every week in some way, shape or form.JFC. Browns just lost again--at home--and this time to a team that was 1-10...despite outgaining them by 120 yards, having almost twice as many first downs, and outgaining them by almost two yards per play.
Said pretty much everything I was thinking after reflection but we really just need to scrap whatever redzone offense we've been running, we have extra time with the bye to do it and it's a clear weakness that is worsened by the legitimate concern we might miss a FG that seems like a gimme. We really need to be able to utilize Donaldson there.Indiana is a damn good team. No shame in losing to them. But our redzone offense, lack of an identity in short yardage situations, and kicker who's scared of his own shadow are deeply troubling. Hopefully we get a similar flip of the switch as last year's playoffs, otherwise we will go home early
Jerry Jeudy isn't a great receiver in the NFL. He quits on plays and drops the ball. Not all that reliable. I saw recently the Browns receivers were rated as the worst in the NFL - that doesn't happen if you have a legit #1.There’s some great wide receivers that have been absolutely stranded with shit QBs: Jerry Jeudy, Jefferson, MHJ, G Wilson, Olave, etc

No Julian was slow on the handoff.Against scUM they ran what I call a quick hitter where Julian was moving towards the line and handing off to the RB as he came through. I’m not I saw that last night.

I was on board with the laid back efficiency-focused offense during the season, but felt sure that he could flip the switch to an attacking aggressive offense when it became necessary.
Slow pace of play is great when you’re leading but Day played himself into no margin for error with that 8 minute drive in the 4th.
Letting them into the BTHC still grinds my fucking gears. Did some dumb fucks at the league office think that helping them in any way could possibly lead to some form of goodwill on their part?Football independent.
