The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder played 12 games in 2023, mostly on special teams, and played in a pair of games in 2022. During that time period he was charged with speeding and underage drinking and driving.

Rivals.com had Rice ranked No. 24 overall, No. 1 in Virginia and No. 2 at tackle in the class of 2022 coming out of Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian Academy. He played in the Under Armour All-American Bowl and was invited to the Polynesian Bowl. Rice didn’t allow a sack in his final two years and had 219 pancake block en route to being a two-time all-state selection.

Rice picked North Carolina over Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

The dad is being a turd bucket for sure, but in the end Nico is an adult who is capable of making his own decisions, if he doesn't have the awareness to recognize that he did not produce at a high enough level last year to try to command a multi million dollar raise then I think he's probably got some poor decision making skills of his own.
