Where was the last place you went on vacation?

Absolutely agree. We went to RMNP in late May a handful of years ago. First couple days, they still had most of the park closed due to weather and it was fine. They finally opened up the thru road and it was amazing because it was still bitterly cold up top and nobody else wanted to be up there. We had a blast. The entire Alpine station parking lot was empty except for us. A week later it was in the 60s at the top and you couldn’t find a parking spot anywhere or get even a moment of quiet.

I"m so glad I visited multiple times in my younger years some of the "better" national parks as I will never be going again unless they implement some draconian visitor limits which would never happen due to the loss of money:

Yosemite
Tetons/Yellowstone
Grand Canyon
Arches
Zion
Bryce

Went to Olympic in May 2024 and it was pretty sparse and had a great time. When I go to UDub game in September I'll try to hit Rainer or North Cascades.

My friend basically said to me once "Social media has ruined Zion National Park" and I agree with that sentiment 100%.
