2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

Please explain this to me:

#1 Ohio State loses its CCG by 3 points and drops in the CFP standings....

But #9 Alabama loses its CCG by 21 points and doesn't drop in the CFP standings.

How is this fair?
Some losses just mean more?

2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

Some perspective after last night using a mix of BCFtoys (what you have done on the field) CFB graphs data (how you have done it):

SUMMARY TABLE — DEFENSIVE QUALITY (OSU SIDE ONLY)

Team DFEI Rank DSR Rank DAY Rank Overall Danger to OSU
Indiana #3 #3 #5 Very High
Miami #7 #10 #7 Moderate
Georgia #13 #12 #17 Moderate–Low
Texas A&M #14 #15 #17 Low
Ole Miss #22 #15–20 #15 Low
Tulane #30+ #25+ #35+ Negligible
IU is far and away the best defense we will face before a possible rematch with it.

None of:
-Georgia
-Miami
-A&M
-Ole Miss
are even close.

Indiana:
best early-down efficiency
top-tier drive denial
elite finishing drives allowed
elite available-yards suppression
elite FEI stability
best red-zone constraints
best suited for OSU’s style (this is the killer)

Georgia/Miami/A&M simply cannot replicate the same "structural discomfort" IU can create.

B1G CCG: #1 tOSU vs #2 Indiana in Indy, Sat. Dec 6th, 8 ET on FOX

Just watched the play in the red zone where Sayin sprints to his left and has to throw an absolute dime to Smith and Smith has to do something special for it to have any chance. That's what we've got?
If he didn't sprint and throws it as soon as he breaks that's probably an easy completetion don't know why they added a sprint to let them get time to get under it.

Like you said, now Saying is no longer a heisman candidate that is this freshman sensation, he is a imbattled QB with a chip on his shoulder. The rest of CFB better watch the fuck out, cause Day, Saying and Smith are coming for blood.
This is something I am almost good with, they need to change the Heisman it shouldn't be while there are still games to play. IMO it definitely affected Troy Smith. Not that we would have beaten Fla that year anyway.

This is part of my point - perfection is great and all, but when you rely on perfection, it's a low probability of success/low efficiency tactic.

On 1st down, it's not an awful playcall. On 3rd and 1, down 3, in the red zone, it's a godawful playcall.

We can think whatever we want - we're just fans. I can promise you Ryan Day doesn't think he's infallible.

If Sayin is the player we all think he is, he'll take this in stride as part of his growth as a QB. As good as he's been, as you said, he's just a freshman in experience. And it was about time SOMEONE pushed him to make adjustments, even TCUN didn't do that.
I 100% agree Day doesn't think Sayin is infallible. Day basically took Sayin’s mind out of the game in the second half. Most plays they cut the field in half for him, or he literally had 1 read. ( he could have also run, which would have won us the game....)

You don't run like 5 or 6 boots for the first time all year, with 1 maybe 2 reads if you don't think your qb is a little out of his league. Why the fuck they ran those single read plays ( I actually think they were run/pass options and if Sayin runs on the second one we win) on 3rd and 1 in the red zone, I honestly have no idea.

Like you said, now Saying is no longer a heisman candidate that is this freshman sensation, he is a imbattled QB with a chip on his shoulder. The rest of CFB better watch the fuck out, cause Day, Saying and Smith are coming for blood.

Notre Dame (football only discussion)

Used to be the “anytime, anywhere” team.

Would have loved to have seen them play Texas in a bowl game on NYD.

Sark and his boys are going. I can’t believe Marcus Freeman would bail like this
I can. That guy just chameleons into whoever is paying him. You'd think he was born Marcus O'Brien the second he took that job.

OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion, HC at USF)

I’m in the “Thanks for everything, good luck at USF” camp.

Indiana may have had an advantage in game prep last night since they had Purdue the week before when we had The Game, and they may have had less distractions during the week.

We’ve got 24 days to get ready. I’d prefer the same full-time group concentrate on aTm and Miami, with some GAs assembling film study and analyzing tendencies for future possibilities UGA, Indiana, Oregon, and Texas Tech. And the winner of Ole Miss and Tulane after that game happens.
