J.J. McCarthy (once a tCun, always a tCun; Nine on the Pine)

All I know or think I know about McCarthy is from here, but is there a chance that he's so sheltered that he doesn't know that his success in *ichigan was due to cheating?
I can't excuse that any GM doesn't see that link. I can't respond to that.
But it seems like McCarthy thinks an NFL gig is his right because of what he did up north. And I wonder if he knows how much cheating happened.
Does he know what he did up north? Because from a certain point in time, he didn't even do enough to be called a game manager. Was he there for those games?

Bryce "L" Underwood (QB ttun, for now)

Human blobfish Biff Poggi said he's Batman. wtf does that mean in the context of football? Is he strong? Say he's Superman. Is he fast? Say he's Flash. How do Batman's skills translate to football? He uses his detective skills to....throw interceptions? He uses his gadgets to help......overthrow 5 yard routes?

Why are they so idiotic in everything they say and do?

2027 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

You guys haven't even mentioned the most important future recruit to visit the OSU campus recently. Baby Gronk. I am disappointed in the whole recruiting team (sarcasm font).

No knock on the kid if he is good enough to get the offers. It just strikes me as funny the Cleveland paper gave him a whole article.
Yeah, I purposely ignored it... There's a bunch of posts he tweeted. Legend Bey gave him a tour, posing with Brandon Inniss and he's at a multiple day camp from what I've seen. I want no parts of that kid

NBA Discussion (Official Thread)

I know this is a little late from when this was posted - almost a month ago. But if you don't want teams to tank, how about you reverse the draft order? The top pick goes to the champions. Then the to the team that lost the finals. And so on...
Yeah, the best get better, but now the lesser teams need to do better with free agency and managing salary caps.
If we keep rewarding schlubbery, then we're going to get more schlubbery.

These GM's just refuse to draw the link to the any success he had at tsun and the cheating. It was so fucking obvious. Fuck Jamarcus McCarthy.

People to Punch, Pet Peeves, and General Vexations (mega-merge)

Is it me getting older (probably), or are people acting more and more like entitled turd-squishers?
"I'm in an exit only lane, and it's well past the point where I can safely change lanes. But I don't want to exit here. I better dangerously move over a couple of lanes to avoid a little minor inconvenience."
"Yeah, I know this is a left-turn only lane, but I want to turn right. YOLO!!!"
"I'm coming up to a red light, and I want to turn right. I should just make a continuous turn, and as I turn, I'll check to see if someone is coming. If so, I'll consider if I need to stop. Otherwise, I'm going."
And that's just a few things I got to see so far today.

In hindsight, I realize that my comparison to Jamarcus Russel was entirely inappropriate. Everything Jamarcus Russel accomplished on the field was legit and not the result of an extensive multi-year cheating scheme.

2027 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I the new recruiting strategy of smaller HS classes, but go after the big fish and guys willing to stay for 2-3yrs but willing to take less for possible development will allow for OSU to land 3 guys like this. Theres going to be a handful of guys a class where OSU will stay in it until the end for
I like that strategy, especially with how we've utilized the Portal. Plus Ohio is really producing talent lately and we can fill up a good bit of the class at home without dumping out the coffers for a good bit of those guys.

Why Duke vs. Michigan is leaving Madison Square Garden and moving to Miami Marlins' baseball stadium

One of the biggest nonconference games of the 2026-27 college basketball season is moving more than a thousand miles -- and into a baseball stadium.

In a surprising twist, the Duke-Michigan game that was previously announced for Dec. 21 at Madison Square Garden is now expected to be played at Loan Depot Park, home of the Miami Marlins, sources told CBS Sports. The game date remains Dec. 21. The contracts haven't been signed, but sources this week put it close to 100% that the game gets moved to the MLB ballpark in southeastern Florida.

Ohio State Board of Trustees Approves Final $100 Million Settlement with Richard Strauss Sexual Abuse Survivors

The Ohio State Board of Trustees voted Wednesday to approve a $100 million settlement with hundreds of survivors of former university doctor Richard Strauss.

The resolution is expected to serve as the final settlement in the ongoing fallout from the Strauss sexual abuse cases. The measure was included in a consent agenda containing dozens of items, which the board approved unanimously.

State president Ravi Bellamkonda said Strauss survivors will always remain part of the Buckeye family and community.

We continue to be very grateful to them for their courage in coming forward — and reaching a final resolution was very important to us as an important step forward,” said Bellamkonda, who became Ohio State’s 18th president on March 12.

Trustees did not disclose details of the settlement during the meeting. Board chair John Zeiger said the terms remain confidential and cannot be made public until the agreement is finalized. Zeiger acknowledged that the public will have questions about what he called “this substantial development” and said the university intends to provide answers when it is able to do so.

It’s important we respect the court’s order and comply with the mediator’s directive,” Zeiger said. “But we will provide additional information on this resolution when we are positioned to do so.”

The university and the plaintiffs released the following joint statement after Wednesday’s board meeting:
Ohio State and 279 of the 280 individual remaining Richard Strauss survivors involved in the pending litigation have reached settlements in principle in a total amount of $100 million. The university’s Board of Trustees has now publicly ratified these agreements in principle, and all parties thank the mediators for their assistance. The mediation and its confidentiality are continuing as the parties work to finalize the details of the settlements, and additional information will be shared as appropriate.

Before Wednesday’s vote, Ohio State had paid more than $61 million to 317 survivors since March 2020. The university also reached settlements with more than a dozen survivors in April.
