Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

Not a lawyer by any means, but limiting a player's opportunities by curtailing ability to transfer (let alone coaches), might be considered a restraint of trade occurrence, and open up college football to monopoly issues (once again). Now that significant money is on the table.

You don't have to be a lawyer to see what's wrong with this proposal.

You would have to be an elected official to be blind to the inherent unfairness and legal issues this kind of rule would create.

Asinine Conspiracies

HA! Reminds me of arguments in my house. Usually parents vs. kids.
I say an argument is "won" when shit goes the way I say it's going to go. "Do your homework." I win the argument when the homework is done. "Go to bed." I win the argument when the kid goes to bed.
She says the argument is "won" when everyone agrees with her. There isn't a "Do your homework" from her. It's "Here's why you need to do your homework and I'm going to keep lecturing you until you understand and agree." Very frustrating.
Anyway, they say not to talk about religion or politics with people. I think it's because you really can't present any facts in either case that people will allow to change their minds. According to that video I linked, I guess most people aren't intelligent enough to accept someone else's viewpoint on these things.

Well, Dub, have always marveled how at the end of an (any) argument, it's always my fault, even when she dented my car with hers, as I was parked in the driveway, waaaay over to my side....other issues as well. Maybe we do need a female as President, against Iranians, Russians, Chinese, etc.

Accountability is a woman's kryptonite.. I too have been amazed at how many times that my wife lost an earring and it was somehow my fault. This is why I don't argue with them I just listen until they're down cackling then I walk away and forget it.

Ha.
My son was in the bathroom, pooping. Not a toddler, potty training. He was probably 14 or 15 at the time. My wife walked in on him. That was my fault.
True story.

Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 20 Straight B1G Titles)

Bestbuck, am I correct in thinking a win at the lower seeds counts as much as one at the top? Only ask because of the order in which they play. Doubles, then seed #1, #2, etc? Or maybe reverse?
Yessir but it seems to me that all the best have stellar talent at the top. If our 3-6 man up we got a chance this year to win it all. @gracelhink am I thinking clearly on this one?

J.J. McCarthy (once a tCun, always a tCun; Nine on the Pine)

I still do not fucking understand it. The effect of the cheating on his play became so evident when he dropped off a cliff when they had to stop cheating. How could you just dismiss that and waste the 11th pick on him? Sure take a chance on him in the 2nd round but top half of the 1st???

Um excuse me but have you seen those videos of him throwing those spin passes!!

And to compound it, they had a winning lottery ticket fall into their laps with Darnold actually figuring it out.............and they shipped him off to go win a SB in favor of this goober.
Gotta be the smartest man in the room.

Just like 49ers taking Trey Lance hoping he could one day be what Justin Fields was in College with Justin Fields sitting right there.

Now going by his Career Justin Fields may not have worked out either but he was the more complete option. Don't choose a more raw Justin Fields if you want a more polished Justin Fields

HS Swim Team - any experience?

Did the same with daughter coming out of HS. Visited various colleges, and you might want to get him qualified for JO's. Colleges recruit kids with Junior Olympic times, and believe me, they're a big deal. A kid from a small HS, versus a 2,000+ HS, can compete equally in the pool. Anyway, most of the colleges don't have much money for scholarships (not entirely certain how the new rules are), but most 'whole' scholarships are broken into several/many pieces so each kid can get some. Many swimmers rely on academic scholarships, so keep grades up (with as many AP classes as possible). We interviewed coach at Northwestern, and when started throwing times around, he mentioned he just got a kid from NC with a JO times 2 seconds (huge!) better than daughter. And we did summer league, year-rounds, etc for several years. She swam four years at small school, but took home 3 All American trophies. Top three in every event, including relays, get All American.....
at the DIII level, there are no athletic scholarships, but they always seem to find extra "merit" scholarships for kids they want. I'm excited for him to at least start down this road. He's really focusing in on the 200IM, only swam it 3 times this season and obviously got stronger each time. The competitive swim this summer will be really good for him to help take it further.

I feel like this might be the year. The lower seeds on this team seem to have come through a lot. Let's do this boys!
You are Exactly right BB36
Acc to UTR (universal tennis ranking) the margin between top 10 Tosu players is very thin .62. All ten are over 13.12!

From college tennis rankings…

Ohio State Men's Ice Hockey (2019 B1G Champions)

Indications are that we're stepping up to play the NIL/portal game.

Ohio State and Michigan State also added the portal’s highest-drafted players. OSU added sophomore defenseman Sascha Boumedienne, in a surprise move away from Boston University;

And then this stat, which measures the net portal effect (quality lost to quality coming in) We're +57 on his scale.
