This doesn't change the billing difference. Also to work, in either Semesters or quarters, you'd have to have full course offerings in the summer. A problem with 9500 kid freshman classes is now you have have the course capacity to throughput those extra kids. My daughter is starting her 3rd year this fall her program is on its 3rd curriculum incarnation and the main driver is the demand fir class seats outweighs their desire to offer the seats. (Its a smaller major so it makes sense to only offer some classes one semester a year, but they take approximately 50 kids a year but some classes only have 30 seats a year. You see the problem.

There are a lot of ways to construe it (for me at least). I like that TSC hasn’t even been handed a backup role just because he’s a year ahead in the program.

It’s good that Fahey is getting called out for what he does on the field and his prep/work ethic.

You could maybe say it’s a tad concerning TSC hasn’t crossed the finish line and locked it down. It could also all be nothing and Day knows damn well TSC would go in but wants to keep pushing him rigorously because he still doesn’t se what he wants to see.

Those are just thoughts in response to- I am not locked into one single position or opinion.

It's not often that teams can add a standout veteran to their roster less than two weeks before the start of the season, but that's exactly what LSU has done twice in the last week. Sources tell CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz that former Ole Miss star defensive lineman Zxavian Harris is expected to land with the Tigers after a brief stint with the New Orleans Saints.

Harris is taking advantage of a recent Louisiana ruling, under which athletes from the Class of 2022 have received temporary restraining orders to gain a fifth year of eligibility. LSU has already made plans to add tight end Dae'Quan Wright, who seems destined for a return to college football after being waived by the Cleveland Browns.

Most recently, Harris was in training camp with the Saints after going undrafted in 2026. The Saints waived Harris on Aug. 8, and he hasn't landed with another NFL team, so it is expected that he will reunite with his former head coach in Baton Rouge.

A four-star recruit in the 2022 signing class, Harris really broke out as a senior last fall. He was a key cog in the Rebels' defense -- wreaking havoc in the middle of the line to the tune of 58 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. That was enough to get Harris invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Larry Black, Michigan’s new defensive tackles coach, wants his group to play with an edge, and he has his own way of communicating the goal. Michigan’s players have been learning the lingo so far in preseason camp.

“He brought a mentality to the D-line,” said Trey Pierce, one of Michigan’s four team captains. “He brought that gritty, scummy cat mentality he wants us to have.”

What is a scummy cat?

“When you’re on the D-line, you’re in there fighting,” Pierce said. “It’s a fight every play. You go into a street fight, it’s hard to beat a guy who’s gritty, who’s scummy.”

Browns name Deshaun Watson starting QB ... yet have 200 million reasons to cut him after the 2026 season​

Cleveland is turning to Watson now even though his contract makes it almost impossible for him to remain with the team beyond this year​

The Cleveland Browns officially have a starting quarterback in Deshaun Watson, and for some reason, they decided to give the job to a player who likely doesn't have a future with the team.

Due to the way Watson's contract is structured, the Browns will almost certainly release him in March, and that just adds another bizarre layer to the team's decision to hand him the starting QB job. The Browns could have given the job to Shedeur Sanders, but instead, they gave it to someone who essentially has no future in Cleveland.

The $200 million reason why Deshaun Watson will be gone after the 2026 season​

After the Browns traded for Watson in 2022, they gave him a five-year, $230 million contract that was fully guaranteed. Not only did the Browns make one of the worst trades in NFL history, but they followed it up by handing out one of the worst contracts ever. That's the kind of double whammy that can set your team back for the better part of a decade.

Over the past four years, the Browns have restructured Watson's contract multiple times, mainly so Cleveland could kick the can down the road on his salary cap hits. However, the Browns also included a poison pill when they restructured his contract in December 2024, and the clause pretty much guarantees they will cut Watson by March 13, 2027, so be sure to mark your calendar, Browns fans.

Here's how the clause works, via former NFL agent Joel Corry, who laid out the details in February:

• During the restructure, Watson had two dummy/voiding years in 2027 and 2028 that were turned into real contract years with minimum salaries. Watson also has a base salary of $200 million in 2029 that's NOT guaranteed, but it becomes FULLY guaranteed if he's still on the roster by the third day of the league year in 2027. If the Browns don't want to pay the $200 million, they have to cut Watson before March 13, 2027. (This is a team that once had a trade fall through because they forgot to file the paperwork with the NFL, so hopefully someone sets an alarm for March 12 so they remember to cut Watson.)

By the time next March rolls around, the Browns will have paid Watson $230 million, and you can go ahead and bet everything you own that they're going to make sure they don't have to pay him another dollar.

If Watson were to somehow lead the Browns to the Super Bowl this year, the team would still be forced to cut him because there's no way they'd be able to afford to keep him with the $200 million salary becoming guaranteed in 2029.
