2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Problem is, Ponatoski wants to play football AND baseball in college. That would set him behind tremendously at OSU, where TSC and eventually Edmunds would be getting in spring reps with the skill positions, and Ponatoski is traveling to play Rutgers or Oregon.
Also Day doesn’t seem to be that impressed by him and neither are national scouts. He’s the #22 QB and ranked #294 overall. His ranking and talent lean more towards him going pro In baseball as he’s the #11 overall baseball recruit and #5 SS in the country. I just don’t see a reason why OSU would show any interest. And also, those Oregon and Bama offers, he’s the 2nd to lowest ranked QB for both of them. So I doubt either would take his commitment tomorrow, and if they did they’re probably taking another QB and he’d be the plan b.

It just seems like it’d take a lot for Day to change course

He's ranked a top 20 HS draft prospect for MLB. He's likely going to get drafted, over-slotted and never play CFB.

2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Moeller QB Matt Ponatoski continues to turn heads....this month he has picked up offers from Oregon and Alabama, but OSU doesn't seem like they're sniffing around him too much. Would love for that to change.

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

My $.02 - stop playing around with it. Let it run, as is, for a couple of years and then adjust.

The flaws in the BCS became evident after 3-4 years. Same for the 4 team CFB.
Let the current structure breathe a bit. Then adjust in say - 2028 or beyond.

Too soon to start monkeying around with something so new.
The CFP's management committee has been contemplating changing the seeding for this fall for months. While there was overwhelming support in the room to move to a straight seeding format, some commissioners were hoping to tie the discussion into the bigger consideration of format for 2026 and beyond. No decisions were made on the CFP's future format.

Just sayin': Yeah, basically I agree. So far the "straight seeding" is just for 2025; it could all change again in 2026.

2026 OH WR Jaeden Ricketts is a Buckeye!!!

Per 11w poster:
Regarding Jerquaden Guilford I think this all hinges on Jaeden Ricketts. Birm talked about him last week I think and basically said that he is really really fast but people are not sure he is done enough to continue growing his game. He is going to camp this summer and if he has not developed the way Hartline wants tough conversations could be had. It makes sense to still bring Guilford in for an OV just in case Ricketts has not developed how the staff wants him to. We could be looking at a Marc Nave situation
At this point Hartline can cherry-pick talent.

Game Thread Texas at tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, 12pm ET, FOX

I haven’t really been part of this discussion, but it seems to me that it’s been a disagreement between people unhappy with the number of noon kickoffs and people who are unbothered by it. From my perspective, calling them Fox lackeys is intellectually dishonest at best
In addition to near-total ignorance of how TV contracts work...
