OSU Women's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

Has McDuff figured out that there's only one basketball allowed on the court at a time? Or that unless a shooter hits 100% of their shots, someone (hopefully in S&G) needs to collect the rebound? Do like the guard talent, but hard to imagine a four-deep at #2 (shooting) guard. PS, saw U-tube highlight of Jacy/Suns. She was noted as being a 'bully' and injuring people. Showed the replays. Jacy was diving for the ball, and happened to land on someone's leg as she was going for the ball. Now, that's typical Jacy play. Nothing like Griner elbowing Caitlyn in the throat, however.
Short answer. No

People to Punch, Pet Peeves, and General Vexations (mega-merge)

Here's another one that is probably unreasonable: people who think they're being smart by scheduling something to be at "3:00 EST". The EST stands for Eastern Standard Time, as opposed to Eastern Daylight Saving Time (EDT). If you schedule something for 3:00 EST in June, I have to do the whole "spring forward / fall back" thing and figure out if you're talking about 2:00 EDT or 4:00 EDT. (Spoiler alert: 3:00 EST = 4:00 EDT). Then I need to try to guess if you're a doofus and didn't know that we're in daylight saving time now, or not. Then I need to figure out if I'm zurping this way out of proportion. Then after a couple minutes of wondering if I need to make a post on Buckeyeplanet about it, I usually just forget it and write it down as me being a big nerd and say it's for 3:00 EDT.
My calendar does this automagically for me.

I think it’s F’d with certain states that don’t do it. The older I get the more I feel we should decide on DST and stop the back forth.

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

From the SI article:

Folks, the records from 2021 and 2022 should also be changed to forfeits, vacations, or no contests.

Acting like only 2023 is involved shows a total lack of understanding by Pat Forde, Why am I not surprised?

The mass sports media isn't going to easily admit that whole seasons and a national title were completely compromised. Their stance after those first maybe couple of days after this broke has been to either A. Say nothing and ignore it or B. Sunshine pump scUM and go out of their way to only paint them in positive light.

College Baseball/Softball News, Notes, Awards (Official Thread)

Texas Tech was leading Texas 1-0 in the 6th inning yesterday in Game 1 of the Women’s Softball Final Series.

Texas had runners on first and third with 2 outs and Atwood, their best hitter up. Tech’s pitcher Canady, an All-American, is told to walk the batter after the runner on first stole second. She throws intentional balls above the strike zone instead of outside the batter’s box. On the 3-0 pitch, it wasn’t high enough (shoulder high at most) and Atwood stroked a line drive into left field to make it 2-1 Texas, which was the final score.

Tech manager, should you maybe have instructed that intentional walk to be outside the batter’s box? It might cost you a Natty.

I often edit thread titles from ‘EST’ to ‘ET’ in an attempt to avoid confusion.

Perhaps this will increase everyone's thirst for Maize and Blue blood:

From the SI article:
”Any vacation of records from Michigan’s undefeated 2023 national championship season. In the future, NCAA record books may not say the Wolverines went 15–0.”

Folks, the records from 2021 and 2022 should also be changed to forfeits, vacations, or no contests.

Acting like only 2023 is involved shows a total lack of understanding by Pat Forde. Why am I not surprised?
