Fong says in his latest article that OSU is “in the thick of it” with some top edges to join Jacobs in the class. He says Chris Whitehead has us extremely high on his list. Mentions Rashad Streets as another edge we’re pushing for. Fong says he has a prediction in for Abraham Sesay but mentions we’ll have to see how his process shakes out

2025 Season: Are You Ready For Some Football?

“A LOCKER ROOM OF GROWN-ASS MEN.” During a recent episode of The Triple Option podcast, Urban Meyer said the quiet part out loud: Ryan Day and Ohio State have shifted at least part of their roster-building philosophy away from high school recruiting and toward adding veteran players from the transfer portal.

“I think the template has been set now, with the Big Ten winning three years in a row with the most mature, veteran teams,” Meyer said. “Someone said the average age of college teams was about the same age as NFL teams. … The average experience was almost four years — someone threw that at me yesterday as well. The Wolverines did it. The Buckeyes did it.

“I actually talked to Coach Day about that yesterday. We talked about it before the (national title) game, and he mentioned that. Everyone’s talking about it. How do we get a locker room of grown-ass men that have been through it? Coaching that 21-year-old is a much different cry from coaching that 18-year-old. You’ve got a grown-ass man with experience that understands the game.”

2026 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

It's good to have a veteran QB too.

Veteran Quarterbacks Have Been A Common Trait for National Champions in Transfer Portal Era

Age isn't just a number, at least when it comes to the starting quarterback of a national championship team in college football.

Having an upperclassman quarterback seems to be a key to success, at least in terms of winning the national championship in the transfer portal era. Since 2019, every quarterback who’s won the national championship has been in at least their third year of college football; all but one of them, with Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy being the lone exception, has been in at least their fourth year of college football.

Age of Quarterbacks to Win National Championship Since CFP Started
SEASON QUARTERBACK AGE YEAR IN SCHOOL
2025 FERNANDO MENDOZA (INDIANA) 22.29 4th
2024 WILL HOWARD (OHIO STATE) 23.31 5th
2023 J.J. MCCARTHY (MICHIGAN) 20.97 3rd
2022 STETSON BENNETT (GEORGIA) 25.38 6th
2021 STETSON BENNETT (GEORGIA) 24.19 5th
2020 MAC JONES (ALABAMA) 22.36 4th
2019 JOE BURROW (LSU) 23.09 5th

Julian Sayin was great in his first year as Ohio State’s starting quarterback, there's no doubt about that. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist who finished with the third-best completion percentage in a single season in college football history. You can't ask for much more than that from a first-year starter. That said, at times when Ohio State needed him the most, Sayin wasn't always at his best. While a lackluster offensive line performance in Ohio State's last two games – both of which were losses – certainly played a part in that, it was evident that Sayin's experience, or lack thereof, also played a role.

Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

they won again tonight and are 7-3 in their last 10.

I was checking this site out: https://moneypuck.com/teams.htm

It has a bunch of graphs that show different metrics. The Blue Jackets are a bit unlucky and tend to be slightly "bad" 5 on 5. I think if they make any more moves, they'll do something to bolster their front line scoring more than anything else at this point - but it wouldn't shock me to see the team stand pat too.

No lead is safe for the Blue Jackets. Last night they had a 2 goal lead (3-1) in the 3rd and blew it (3-3). Luckily they did still win 5-3; which isn't the norm. The Columbus Blue Jackets have 9 losses after having the lead in the 3rd period, which is the most of any team in the 2025-26 NHL season.

The I found this chart: https://champsorchumps.us/records/most-nhl-blown-leads-in-2026
