2027 TN RB David Gabriel Georges (Verbal Offer)

Latest on Ohio State’s chase of David Gabriel Georges sounds great for the Buckeyes’ strong chances of landing the elite running back recruit

Ohio State is after David Gabriel Georges like no other recruit in the class of 2027. One move they’ve made shows just how bad the Buckeyes want him.

The Ohio State Buckeyes just wrapped up their first big recruiting weekend of the summer with multiple key visitors in town.

It was the official visit weekend for Baylor School (TN) five-star RB David Gabriel Georges. The elite running back recruit was Ohio State’s most important recruit on campus; the Buckeyes have identified Gabriel Georges as their biggest target during the 2027 cycle.

Coming off of the first of four official visits Gabriel Georges is set to make, it’s sounding good for the Buckeyes chances of landing him.

Ohio State is going all-in to land David Gabriel Georges

Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn has been recruiting Gabriel Georges since he was at Oregon. The relationship is huge for Ohio State’s chances. Still, NIL is going to be a major part of it, and the Buckeyes are said to be stepping up in that department.

According to Lettermen Row’s Alex Gleitman, the Buckeyes are going away from their normal NIL practices with the running back position.

“One thing to note, when I asked about NIL, I was told Ohio State is all-in on this one,” Gleitman wrote. “The Buckeyes usually don’t do that for backs, but they feel DGG is special, maybe generational to some extent. If they lose out, I wouldn’t expect it to be for NIL.”

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

They got a decent DE, probably the last pick in round 1 next year, and a couple of day 2 picks down the road. For the best dfensive player in the game who probably still has a couple good/great years left. That's fucking embarrassing. :slappy:At least traffic cops around Cleveland will get a break.

Now watch them trade Denzel Ward for a White Castle coupon.
Nah, this is Andrew 4D Berry man. They’ll get at least a White Castle coupon, a case of Strohs and a toilet seat lid for him. Maybe a conditional tuna sandwich with protected mayo in 2029

“I love where our roster is. This roster is big, it's versatile, it's skilled, it's smart,” Diebler said.

“I think this is the deepest team we’ve had, and I don’t know that it’s even close.”– Jake Diebler on Ohio State’s 2026-27 roster

On paper, it's a top-25 roster & should be his best team. I don't think it's quite a contender, as in the B1G you have two rivals that are primed to try and go to back-to-back Final Four appearances, plus other programs like USC and IU that are clearly spending more on talent. No doubt it's a team that has the exact types of players & skillsets that Diebler wants his team to have, and here in Year 3, if it doesn't work out, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to place the blame other than Jake Diebler and his system. Barring major personnel losses, this team should be around 5th or 6th in the conference & make the Sweet 16.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Why anyone would want an Ohio State guy to go to this fucking embarrassment of a franchise is mind-boggling.

Fuckin clowns, as usual.

I'm not even saying trading him was the wrong move - he makes a ton of money and is over 30 now. But they didn't get nearly enough back for him.

Draft Picks, Draft Picks, Draft Picks. This team is like the story (Shel Silverstein I think) of the guy who got 3 wishes and just kept on wishing and wishing and wishing for more wishes until he died.
And only one is a 1st in next years draft which will likely be at the end of the draft. Yea he’s 30 but he’s still awesome, I would have expected at least two 1st rounders. Clowns being clowns again oh well.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Rams: A

Let's not overthink this: How often does one of the greatest defenders in NFL history become available? Aaron Donald never switched teams. Lawrence Taylor never switched teams. J.J. Watt did, but he had sustained several major injuries, was about to turn 32 and was coming off a five-sack season when the Texans cut bait.
Those are the only players with more Defensive Player of the Year awards than Garrett.

Browns: B-

Here are the quarterbacks who started at least one game during Garrett's time in Cleveland:
  • Baker Mayfield
  • Deshaun Watson
  • DeShone Kizer
  • Jacoby Brissett
  • Joe Flacco
  • Jameis Winston
  • Shedeur Sanders
  • Dillon Gabriel
  • Dorian Thompson-Robinson
  • Tyrod Taylor
  • Case Keenum
  • P.J. Walker
  • Kevin Hogan
  • Nick Mullens
  • Jeff Driskel
  • Bailey Zappe
It is an absolute travesty that the Browns could not pair an all-time great defender with a competent offense. In Garrett's nine seasons in Cleveland, the offense finished 31st or 32nd in scoring three times, more often than it finished in the top half of the league (twice).

That is all in the past now, though, and the Browns' haul for Garrett is ... OK. Remember, the Ravens were going to send the Raiders two first-round picks (including No. 14 overall) for Maxx Crosby, who has dealt with more injuries and isn't as good as Garrett. This deal lands Cleveland only one first-round pick, and it will likely come at the bottom of the round.

Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Anything that didn’t include at minimum two 1st rounders is a joke. Berry just had a relapse and reverted back to his Watson trade days. Either give up the farm for a trash heap, or trade your prized thoroughbred for “potential.”

I will say trading Garrett was probably the right move. He is at his all time peak value, but what we got in return does not equal imo. Regardless, the Browns are going nowhere without a competent QB. Shedump and Twatson?!? Lolz…
And here's why this team thinks they're playing 4D chess and they're playing 1/2D Tiddlywinks. You want to move him, then move him. You don't want to say it publicly, fine, then go behind the scenes and work the phones. But they said he was "untouchable" and according to reports apparently everyone believed them but the Rams, who just kept dogging them about it. THERE WAS NO BIDDING WAR. THERE WERE NO OTHER OFFERS BECAUSE THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T WANT ANY. They could have gotten a better deal, even from the Rams, if they had entertained all of the other teams, because at least one other contender would have been a suitor, and probably multiple. But nope. Let's do nothing to drive the price up, or even to let anyone else know there was a fucking price at all. Let's just take the first and only deal we can get, and set the team up for, what 2030? It's like the radio people said "more draft picks. yyyyaaaayyyyyyyy". And not even good ones at that.
