HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

I think there are some coaching studs in their 40's who have experience that will make the jump to major P5s in the very near future....Bob Chesney and Jon Sumrall come to mind. That said, I'm not remotely close to even considering wanting Day gone. He's made the changes we wanted, i.e. hire a true OC, and he still has some more to go (unfortunately, looking at you LJ), but we lost by 1 on the road in a game we did most critical moments wrong. It's a marathon, not a sprint, and no reason to jump to conclusions yet.

After reading all the posts pointing fingers at who is responsible for this loss, it’s pretty obvious to me.

It was a TEAM loss. Pretty hard to argue that any one individual or position group were responsible. Hell, I’d even throw in some crazy ass shit with that (was it really even intended to be an) onside kick?
They are always a TEAM loss. But we certainly had a few players / coaches who provided some extra credit in the loss. Burke and I would assume Walton for leaving him in there should shoulder some additional blame for that turd performance.

With how the landscaped has totally changed winning 10/11 games a year but getting outed early in the playoff is going to be seen as a major disappointment for the upper level teams. You could say it's "insane" to want to fire a guy who wins 10/11 a year, but at some point you have to take the risk if you want to win the grand prize some day.

No one here does....which is why it's endlessly hilarious to see people screech about firing everyone.
Cooper Tressel Urban or Day I just support my team..BP is place I’ll play the game with other couch experts. It’s harmless..,Day doesn’t give two shits about us.

Ohio State Women's Basketball (2023-24 B1G CHAMPS)

I just hope 1 or 2 assassins are developing as we speak that can simulate the 3 point shooting we've seen in the past. We have several players that are good to great in their roles we just need a couple of glue players that all of a sudden catch ligthening in a bottle. I think one of them could be Eboni Walker. She plays taller than she is and has a knack of making plays in the paint. God willing Maddie has been through enough just let her play a full basketball season. She's wearing 0 this year too!

You sure about that? Aren't you one of the people on the "fire fucking eveyrone" train right now?

Ultimately, you don't eliminate anything from any scenario...if you can do something that could potentially limit another team or give yours an advantage within the rules of the game, shouldn't you at least try it?
I don’t hire or fire. I just pull for my team like hell year after year. I’m not NC or bust that’s a losing proposition.Thats the coaches and fans who should know better.

Game Thread #2 tOSU at #3 Oregon, Sat. Oct. 12, 7:30 pm ET, NBC

The issue is it's the same problems showing up for 6 years now. You can't blame fans for coming to the conclusion that this is what a Ryan Day team looks like, and it's what we should expect in the future.

We don't have to win every time. We do have to win more than 1 big game in 6 years.

I’d like that, but I’ll challenge you to find a better overall coach… on all the dimensions the school wants / needs. I’m not saying that, on that one dimension you’re wrong, but holistically? Where do you go?

I don’t have a single clue.

To be clear, I’m not advocating for the change at the moment. Having said that, he doesn’t have to recruit any longer. NIL collectives will do the heavy lifting. OSU is a pro team and is only going to get more “pro”.
ehh...I think it's more likely the other direction for him. I'd bet he's far more like a Saban where he doesn't want to deal with any of the NIL BS either....

Why? Our defense shouldn’t need gimmicks.

Just saying Mississippi kicker made a 58 yd against LSU in 4 th qtr of tight game. Kickers are out there btw he didn’t shank 3 KO out of bounds either. To win that NC you need more than we have.
Still not convinced those were actual shanks....they looked semi-intentional like they were trying to kick to the corner in person....
