Probably both.

Nico hasn't been good. His backup hasn't been able to surpass him in a lost season. Not concerned at all.

UCLA did a good job of keeping this under wraps. OSU staff was likely trying to pull together the backup’s high school tape for the defense to study for a few hours.

Luke Duncan ia a redshirt sophomore who hasn’t attempted a pass in college.

He’s 6’6” and might not have played HS volleyball, but he did play HS basketball and was a high jumper In track.
