In the early 1980s my friend got a low mileage 1966 Dodge Polara from his great aunt that had just been sitting around since her husband had died years before. Thing was about half a city block long but had a 383 and could still haul ass.View attachment 87706
My grandparents had a Ford Grand Torina, they sold it to my older cousin when they "upgraded" to a Buick Century  For some reason old people loved Buicks back in the day.

OL Kirk Barton (sad)

what was he charged with and what did he plead guilty to?

Barton pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated vehicular homicide in Franklin County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday. As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dropped three additional charges, including a second count of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of operating a vehicle while impaired. The presiding judge also ordered that Barton’s driver’s license be permanently suspended.

Court records show Barton had prior traffic violations, including an OVI charge in 2010 that was dismissed and a 2017 OVI that was reduced to reckless operation. The latter resulted in a fine and a 180-day license suspension.

Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 19 Straight B1G Titles)

Sorry I can’t answer your questions about the MSU match, when Buckeyes go outdoors it can be a challenge for Stearns, Okonkwa and even Kim.
Byers, Anthrop and Bernard should be more effective.
chatter on the talk tennis site included these observations by Choski 94.

“The MSU match was crazy. Wind over the supposed limit to play outdoors but was told Big Ten made the decision to play outdoors regardless. We were there. Things were flying everywhere. It's a great neutralizer but MSU did play really well, too.”

The wind is an equalizer for sure. Kinda strange to hear the conference made the call. Always thought the wind rule is up to both coaches and they have to both agree to either cancel, reschedule/postpone, move indoors or play in the wind, not the conference. BTW, the wind rule is soft.
“I was told by the facilities director that the Big Ten made the call. And I partially agree with you - wind is part of playing outside but when items are flying and rolling around it can be unsafe. That match went on forever as well because of all the let calls with balls and other items rolling and flying onto other courts.”

MLB/MiLB Buckeyes (Official Thread)

Four former Ohio State Buckeyes who should see time in the 2026 MLB season

Three former Buckeyes have made Opening Day rosters, while another starts the season on the IL.

Dominic Canzone - Seattle Mariners

The most exciting player to come from Ohio State currently in the majors is Dominic Canzone of the Seattle Mariners. After playing a big part in helping Seattle make the playoffs for second time in the last four seasons, Canzone will likely play a bigger role for the Mariners this season.
The former Buckeye enters this season coming off an appearance for Italy in the World Baseball Classic, where he hit a home run against Brazil.

Dillon Dingler - Detroit Tigers

Dillon Dingler started to make a name for himself in 2025. Following a 2024 campaign where he appeared in 27 games, Dingler became a starter behind the plate for Detroit. The Ohio State alum handled a pitching staff headlined by Tarik Skubal, who has now won the AL Cy Young Award in back-to-back seasons.

Ryan Feltner - Colorado Rockies

While the Mariners and Tigers will likely be interesting watches after making the playoffs last season, the same can’t be said for the Colorado Rockies, who have lost at least 100 games in each of the last three seasons, and haven’t made the playoffs since 2018.

Zach Dezenzo - Houston Astros

Technically Zach Dezenzo isn’t on a major league roster after he was placed on the IL on Wednesday. Had Dezenzo not suffered an elbow injury in the World Baseball Classic, he likely would have made the Opening Day roster of the Houston Astros.
Dezenzo suffered a right elbow sprain while playing for Team Italy in the WBC. In 19 at-bats in the WBC, Dezenzo hit .263.

I had a '67 Ford Galaxy 500. We bought from some old people who couldn't drive anymore. Low mileage, cherry condition, baby blue. It was a beast. Wish I had a picture of it. It did look like an old person car though, not cool at the time.

I think one of the big blessings of being an early Gen Xer is when we were old enough to drive the country had a great inventory of what turned out to be classic cars and we got them cheap. My buddy had a Dodge Coronet, forget which year. The cars built back then were almost all V8s and they could go 100+ MPH very easily.

OL Kirk Barton (sad)

Fuck Barton. He should have gotten life.
Hopefully he serves the entire 5 years and they're all absolutely miserable for him. And hopefully he can find some humility while inside.

Does Buckeye Scoop still have him on the shows via prison payphone? I could see those tasteless fucks doing such a thing and acting like it's completely normal.

Pittsburgh Pirates (5x WS Champions) Ain't Nutting happenin'

Kid’s starting the year here in Indy. Not sure I’ll brave the weather to make it this weekend but hopefully get to see him before he gets the call.
the boy and I are trying to plan a trip out that way before he gets called up. we have friends in the area, so just gas, food and tickets, seems worth it to me

What does the country have to do with a state statute? 15-60 years for the same crime in TN, for example. On the other hand, probably would have received next to nothing in Montana.
I take it as the general acceptance of the lack of holding people accountable that permeates our society at the highest levels.

Cincinnati Reds (2026 Season Thread)

2 innings for Burns yesterday. 12 all spring. I'd love for someone in modern baseball to explain to me how pitching so few innings gets you ready to pitch a lot in the regular season (these new pitching regimens certainly haven't lessened pitcher injuries. if anything it seems like there more pitching injuries than ever)

Tom Glavine was on several Braves shows recently bemoaning the current training.
Yes, guys are throwing harder than ever and the movement is bananas.

But at what expense? Most bullpen sessions have guys hitting 92-94 miles an hour.
He said he never in 305 wins threw harder than 80% in a bullpen sesh. Dudes are working too hard.

My car is missing from that photo too. In high school I drove a Vette.

Chevette.
