WR Santonio Holmes (All B1G, National Champion, Super Bowl Champion, Super Bowl XLIII MVP)

When walking into the building I work in, I sometimes mutter under my breath "Welcome to North South East West Central Shitfuckistan", so, based on that, I would say yes.

The main thing I remember about Central State is that they gave an honorary doctorate to Mike Tyson, who when he accepted it, in his tee hee child-like voice said something like: "Now that I'm a doctor, I wonder what kind of doctor I'll be? Maybe a gynecologist."

Before he fades off into Boliva

Game Thread Texas at tOSU, Sat. Aug. 30th, 12pm ET, FOX

This is...interesting. Not sure why the hell Texas would have any say here?

If the game does get moved, the FOX lackey's in here are gonna be in shambles :slappy:

I haven’t really been part of this discussion, but it seems to me that it’s been a disagreement between people unhappy with the number of noon kickoffs and people who are unbothered by it. From my perspective, calling them Fox lackeys is intellectually dishonest at best
Agreed. There are some here who want it moved to a later time, and others who say that the complaints aren't going to be heard by anyone who cares. I don't know of any "lackeys".
I also don't know of anyone who would be in "shambles" if it gets moved.
Also also, I'm not sure why Texas would have any say. Also also also, I don't know why Ohio State would have any say.
Whatever...

Deep thought: Does Central State count as a directional school?

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

Oregon's reward for being #1 was to have to play the best team in the mf country. That wasn't fair to them, no matter how much fun it was.
I think my issue is that that wasn't the fault of the format. Theoretically, the "best team in the country" is the #1 team. And if not them, it's the #2 team. And if not them, it's the #3 team, which is sorta the #5 team. It's not the #6 or #8 team. Right? I mean, it was, but how common is that?

I'm not against the change to straight seeds, rather than giving preference to conference champions. I probably prefer it. But I don't like the idea of reacting to one season like it was the worst tragedy ever. It reminds me of 2003 when USC got hosed. Despite being #1 in both "real polls" they were #3 in the BCS poll. Rather than pointing and laughing at USC for losing a game, the college football world decided to suplex the formula into something that any noob fan could understand.

I don't think the end result would have changed if we had used straight seeding based off rankings, rather than giving precedence to conference winners. The only thing that would have changed is which round the teams would have lost in.

Wait a minute.
Are you advocating for the Boise State, SMU, Toledo’s of the CFB world?

Who is my understanding that doing so but earn a Perma ban from Buckeye planet?
I like to be fair in some cases when it's in spite of the SEC, but unfair in other instances when it suits me better.

That tweet sure leaves out a key element - OSU proposed to move it back a day in addition to making it an evening game. I'm glad TX said 'no thanks' as I have tickets to NIN on the 31st:-)

2025 College Football Playoffs Discussion (12 Team Format)

My $.02 - stop playing around with it. Let it run, as is, for a couple of years and then adjust.

The flaws in the BCS became evident after 3-4 years. Same for the 4 team CFB.
Let the current structure breathe a bit. Then adjust in say - 2028 or beyond.

Too soon to start monkeying around with something so new.

Agree mostly. Progress over perfection is always the way.

I do think you could make simple tweaks every couple of years though on obvious stuff. The mid major gets a bye because they won their conference thing will never make sense so why not change it now (which it sounds like they are doing).

2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

I've been relaxing for 18 months.
The NCAA made up their minds within a week when Cam Newton was in trouble.
The NCAA made up their minds within 8 months when Ohio State was in trouble.
The NCAA made up their minds within 8 months when Penn State was in trouble.
C'mon, NCAA. Chip chop chip.

(Then they later decided they did the Penn State thing wrong, so they reversed themselves.)
Alright, fine, I'll relax.. but this better be worth it.
Ohio State and Penn State (after the firings) cooperated completely. Ono, Warde and the football staff have done nothing except stonewall, lie and stall. Natural that this will take longer.

Spoken like somebody from the conference that can afford to let a format dick around for several years before making a change. Some teams don't have the luxury of being the guinea pig.

I didn’t know Kim Kardashian liked pick-up trucks?
Did you know that now.......

Kim Kardashian is now a law school graduate

Kim Kardashian's law school graduation

It’s been a long road for Kim Kardshian as she’s pursued her dream of becoming a lawyer and she’s celebrating a milestone.

Kardashian on Wednesday shared photos and video of what appeared to be a backyard graduation ceremony. In the first video, a voice which sounds like her sister Khloe Kardshian, can be heard saying, “Surprise graduation!”

“It’s an absolute honor to stand here today, not just as mentors, but as witnesses to one of the most inspiring legal journeys we’ve ever seen,” Jessica Jackson, an attorney who worked with Kardashian on her studies.

“Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice,” Jackson said. “No law school lectures, no ivory tower shortcuts, just determination and a mountain of case log books to read.”

Jackson also noted that over the six years Kardashian has dedicated “a total of 5,184 hours of legal study, that’s time she carved out while raising four children, running businesses, filming television shows and showing up in courtrooms to advocate for others.”

Kardashian’s advocacy work in criminal justice has resulted in several people being released from prison, most notably Alice Marie Johnson, a first-time nonviolent drug offender, whose sentence Kardashian encouraged President Donald Trump to commute in 2018, after Johnson had served 21 years.
