I dont represent BP and I never said he would instantly take it....I call bull[Mark May] on him having been offered the job with no formal search...thats what Nebraska fans are telling themselves im sure to feel better about the prospects of him staying...my guess is he is way down the list

I can think of 5-10 who would be better candidates.

For some reason, all of my Nebraska friends seem to feel like they have something that OSU wants and that they have one over on OSU in this situation. What they don't seem to realize is that OSU isn't going after Pelini first. And the time table that was brought up makes no sense. OSU wont start any search until at least after the Aug 12 hearing and likely not until the end of this season.

Plus Joe Schad would have already reported something about this, and would have done so incorrectly, like usual.

I agree. Fickell deserves his shot. I see an OSU product much like Pat Fitzgerald for Northwestern, but more successful. If that's the case, I'm all for it, and this list below is irrelevant.

Jon Gruden
Gary Patterson
Urban Meyer
Bob Stoops
Mark Stoops
Mark Dantonio

Just to name a few that I'd want before Pelini ever was considered.

Now you've gone and made him angry. You wouldn't like bo when he's angry.

You're right. If OSU beckons, Bo will leave in an instant, and he'll be your next head coach.

I'm not sure Ohio State is ready for a coach named Bo.

However, you really can't begrudge a guy wanting to (or be willing to) return to his alma mater. Several years ago a former (very sucessfull) basketball coach at Ohio State (i.e. Gary Williams) left to go back to Maryland.

EDIT - and as far as when feelers were sent out to coaches... do you really think your administration has been sitting on their hands hoping that Tressel would be forgiven by the NCAA over all of this? Don't be naive. They knew which way the wind was blowing in this whole deal. Unless they're completely incompetent they would have to cover their bases. That's not a lack of confidence in Tressel, that's simple prudence.

You may be on to something here.....

I really don't understand an argument (Pelini - would we or wouldn't we offer him; would he or wouldn't he accept) that cannot be resolved for at least 7 months taking up so much space. At this point, who cares? There's not a current opening, and there may or may not be one in December.

Are you trying to say that when JT was suspended, Gee and/or the BoT gave Gene the green light to have a convo on the down low with Bo telling him that instead of firing JT, they suspended him until they could get Bo on board, and a man that played for Woody and is from Ohio said "no thanks"?

Is that what you're telling us? I'm asking. Trying to wrap my head around this.

I don't know who came up with that Top 20 list of potential candidates, but Pelini shouldn't be on it. He was offered the job through indirect channels and turned it down.
I was offered sex with Kate Upton through indirect channels.

If by "sex" you mean coffee....and by "Kate Upton" you mean my secretary...and by "indirect channels" you mean me asking for a cup as long as she is getting one for herself.

Exactly. That's exactly what happened.
Just replace all of what you said with something different that actually happened and that is exactly what happened. :susp:
