Do you really think OSU decided to let the ship sink with the captain? Do you really think they haven't had feelers out to half a dozen people for months?
Do you really think your administration has fiddled while your football program burned?
I have no idea what order people were contacted in, who was contacted, who did the contacting, or anything other than what I've told you, which is, an overture was made to Bo, Bo said no, and very shortly thereafter he got a spiffy new contract.
Why is this so difficult to believe?
You can laugh me out of the room when Bo is named your new head coach, I guess.

I can believe that somebody reached out to Bo Pelini to see if he would have any interest if the job opened up in the not-too-distant future, but that's quite a bit different than him being given an offer. That can just be putting out feelers to see who would be worth putting into a pool of potential candidates, but your earlier post had the phrase "was offered the job", which generated a strong reaction. It's also possible that it was a contact that wasn't authorized by somebody at tOSU, but was just made by somebody that is frequently consulted in coaching searches.
Folks, knappic's been a good poster for a while - being sceptical about what he's posted on this topic doesn't need to evolve into calling him a troll.

I think some people are underestimating Bo Pelini in this thread. I think he'd be a pretty good second tier (after Meyer, Stoops, et al) candidate. He's done a damn fine job bringing Nebraska back to relevence after the Bill Callahan debacle, and that's without the resources he'd have at his disposal in Columbus. He took a much more talented Texas team that played for the BCSC to the wire in the B12 title game in 2009 and had the Huskers in National Title discussions before his QB got banged up last year. Add in that he's an alum, has the pedigree, and was a former captain and he seems like a strong candidate to me.

OSU has a habit of going to BCS games, so pardon us if we don't believe that OSU was turned down by a coach who's never been to one, in order to stay at a program in Nebraska whose last visit to a BCS bowl was when it was curb-stomped about 10 years ago.
