I know the general consensus is to sign 2 QB's in this class, mainly due to the fact that one of them is a boom or bust candidate in Gibson. But what if he comes up for FNL and impresses the coaches with his arm? Would you still want another QB (like a Wimbush or Nunez) to hedge your bets, or would we go all in on Gibson?
According to 247Sports, the Buckeyes have offered scholarships to 34 players from the state of Florida. The next most offers they've extended is to 13 players in the state of Texas, followed by 10 in Georgia, and only 6 in the state of Ohio.
Not only is Ohio State offering more players from the state of Florida (only offered 31 last year), a lot of these recruits receiving the offers are reciprocating the interest, particularly offensive players, who all relish the thought of playing in Urban Meyer's spread offense.
Seems like the 2015 class' first priority is gaining quality depth, as opposed to the 2014 class which had to fill specific holes and specific positions were focused on more heavily than others(I.e. LB, OL, DB). The staff seems to want 2 QBs, 2 TEs, and possibly 2 TEs, and a large number of O and D lineman.
4 Tight Ends?! Holy overkill, Batman.
I assume one of those you meant to put RB's. Which I agree with.
