tOSU Recruiting Discussion

im pretty sure they, like the recruiting sites, have a consensus on the top players in america, im sure they would take tony brown as thier top db(like everyone else)if he were interested enough...we shall see...they would take blanding/hand/peppers/mixon..if that were feasable with urban meyer he seems to recruit the absolute best in the country, so even if we dont get the guys mentioned above, whoever we get is a top notch talent no doubt

i think with the 2014 official visitors that we had for the penn state game, malone, brown, mcmillan, mcdowell, thomas, gennesy, if they all wanted to commit, they would all be accepted...other former "locks" would be left out if there was no room...

but thats not how it happens, and thats not how its gonna happen this year...

coaches do a "first come first serve" kind of philosophy

and players do a "wait til all-star game/signing day" to announce...

the coaches would love to lock up all of these guys but, they just have to recruit hard til february and let the classes fall into place.

This...we stay in the game for guys like Malone, Blanding, Thomas, etc. and it seems UFM will always land one or two of those guys in the end. With most of our needs addressed in '14, we can focus on an elite group of guys. Of all of them, I would like to see us flip Blanding though. He is ready to play right now and is easily the best safety in the country imo...plus our need at safety. Put him and Bell together for the future and I will be a happy man.

RN Hot Board: Class of 2014

Every college football recruit handles the process differently. Many rising seniors are just getting started narrowing down their lists of scholarship offers, while others are already zeroing in on a verbal commitment -- more than three months before national signing day 2014. But wherever the nation's elite prospects stand in their process currently, RecruitingNation is here with all the latest.

Current predictions are based on where prospects have indicated they are most interested in playing. As 2014 classes continue to fill up with verbal pledges, the real picture will come into focus. Check back here frequently to find out how things stack up in the ever-changing recruiting world.

Note: Our predictions are based on what we're hearing from high school coaches and from the prospects themselves. They are subject to change as more information becomes available.

Solomon Thomas- Stanford
JuJu Smith- USC

Curious if someone could tell me which 2014 commits are enrolling early? I believe Raekwon and Mavety are both planning on enrolling early. If we landed them it would be absolutely huge to get them in right away considering how important it is to develop depth at those positions. Which, btw is certainly a selling point to both.

If Juju is ok playing safety and that is where he projects then I want him more than Thomas. I love D Line guys but I want to see some more studs at safety.
But we have taken a few guys last class and erick smith probably in this class. Outside of injuries only 2 safeties typically play while defensive lineman usually rotate in. But having said that, I wouldn't be complaining if that happens.
