tOSU Recruiting Discussion

QB- S. Collier
RB- P. Campbell Jr
WR- L. Johnson, T. McLaurin, C. Samuel, N. Brown
OL- D. Knox, K. Trout, M. Jones, J. Jones, C. Mavety
DE-
J. Holmes, D. Thompson
DT- T. Holley
LB-
K. Berger, S. Hubbard, D. Booker, R. McMillan
DB-
D. Webb, M. Hooker, M. Lattimore, E. Smith
K-
S. Nuernberger

'Pencil' those in....some bolder than others (ex: more confident in Lattimore than Holley). I think the writing is on the wall that the staff wants 6 OL in this class. Not giving up on Prince (or anyone for that matter considering it's October....), but I'd say him or Ragnow takes the 6th spot. I left TE out of this class, as I think Gesicki ends up at PSU (I'll gladly be wrong lol). Dixon, Rudolph, JuJu & Jamal Adams are other names to watch, but if I had to guess, I'd say Dixon has the 'best shot' at being in this class.

As always, things will change as soon as I hit Post Reply......

I will be shocked if we don't end up with a surprise commit this year from this list or someone even less on our radar.

As would I. Like I said, it's only October. No doubt "new" names will pop up between now and then.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the names you penciled in didn't make it into the class and we had other names emerge late. The staff will throw out offers when they see fit and out of the blue. It's awesome to follow because you just don't know what could happen.
Though don't get me wrong I'd love to get every player that you penciled in

Not disagreeing and I totally get that your prefacing your opinion with " it's still early and things can change" but I'm thinking we really made a strong impression on JuJu. The type of impression that can be built upon. Maybe wishful thinking on my part.

Very well could have & I hope they did as well.

Getting Juju would be as big as getting vonn bell last year. Hopefully he builds some really good relationships with the staff and committed players. A defensive backfield with cam burrows and eli apple(or gareon conley, Damon Webb and marshon lattimore) at corners, and vonn bell and juju at S would be sick.

Funny. I see a common theme emerging. Of all the names on our radar but not considered to be "in the running", JuJu seems to be high on all of our lists. I am just really hoping we land E Smith AND another athlete/safety type. Would love to have Jamal Adams, JuJu, Quinn Blanding flip, etc. Really feeling the need for quailty safeties with CB's injury and the lackluster play of the secondary. Also, a few guys seem like they might outgrow the safety spot - Worley, Lee, etc.

Back to JuJu - is safety the expected position for him? Thought I read some quotes where he wants to play WR. I know kids play different positions than they prefer but just curious what the general opinions are.

I think we have the players in the secondary to be performing better but it would help considerably to bring JuJu, Jamal, or even flipping Quinn. However, I think the issues with the OSU secondary are the schemes being played not so much the talent.

I think Blanding could be a real possibility if Mike London gets canned. If London is fired he doesn't land at UVA, and tOSU and FSU are the likely landing spots.

Prince is someone I think too many people are giving up on. Keep in mind his main recruiter could be the Buckeye OC before singing day. This is the kinda late pull Meyer is famous for.
