I wonder how many coaches will stop at the Montgomery Inn and how many will come back to Woody Hayes Center:)

With 18 recruits expected to be in town for unofficial visits this spring game weekend, Ohio State was granted a waiver by the NCAA to provide bus transportation from campus to Cincinnati’s Paul Brown Stadium and back for those prospects interested in making the trip, an athletic department spokesman confirmed for The Dispatch.

The Buckeyes could not play their LiFESports spring game in Ohio Stadium this year due to ongoing refurbishment of part of the seating area. They opted to move the game to 66,000-seat PB Stadium for the first time on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Since the game is often heavily attended by prospects, the team sought the waiver to take those wishing to make the trip to Cincinnati.

But no frills are allowed. For example, while the regular team – using four buses on Saturday – is scheduled to stop at the Montgomery Inn for a post-game meal on the return trip, the recruits’ bus will dead-head back to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, the spokesman said.

Someone will have a better memory than I do, but thought in Urban's first spring game, Ohio Stadium had over 85,000 in attendance. With a maximum of 66,000 seating capacity of Paul Brown stadium in Cincy, I can just see [Mark May]'s comments now....."Ohio State ONLY had 60,000 for their spring game, guess Buckeye Nation is not supporting the Buckeyes as much any more...." or some such [Mark May].

Nevertheless, we old-timers remember when Notre Dame had carte blanche to all the 5*'s (don't think they were rated that way then) to the catholic high schools in the Queen City and environs. I seem to recollect they even got a Notre Dame head coach from Moeller... along with their all-american quarterback - both tanked spectacularly.

Anyway, controlled change is good, and seeing big time football there should make the folks there happy (sorry Bearcat and Bengal fans).

Not a bengals fan, but I believe the bengals have been to the playoffs a lot more than the browns lately. So they're already big time. As is the HS fooball scene, which is every bit as good as any part of the state. Looking forward to keeping the queen city talent in ohio (and not UC)

Most of the players on the uc roster weren't heavily recruited by tOSU so i see no problem with the QC talent staying at uc, especially if there aren't other options in a big time conference.

I guess I was referring to the high end talent. Guys like kief ans hubbard in this class, and guys like hicks, spencer ware and luke kuechly in years past. There is stil a number of high end kids in the queen city that would head to osu if given the looks that I believe our current staff is giving

I know we've got Trout and M. Jones in the fold right now, and we're probably leading for Jamarco Jones, but I can't help but feel a little bit concerned about OL recruiting right now.

With Mustipher committing to NoD, and Nelson seemingly trending that way too, it has been a frustrating the past couple of years for OL recruiting at tOSU. Andy Bauer is thought to be leaving towards 'Bama, and Braden Smith visited, but had a better visit at NoD. Orlando Brown and Alex Bars are probably leaning to Tennessee right now.

But on the other hand, we're in on Bookser (who I am not sure has a committable offer yet), Damian Prince is thought to be moving to Ohio. And we haven't heard much on Roderick Johnson lately either. I know I should trust the coaches, but it seems like we've got to up the ante on OL recruiting in the near future.

edit: That being said, it would be a major coup if the staff is able to land Knox this class.

For what it is worth ND already has Byrne and Mustipher committed at guard for this class. With no knowledge about ND's recruiting plans, I do wonder if they will still be interested as heavily in Nelson going forward.

I am referring to Wade's post over on Mustipher's thread.
