Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2015)

More importantly, where are these games going to be played?

I know the games are in Miami and Dallas, but where is the 1/4 game and the 2/3 game?
I suspect they'll try and keep Bama/Clemson on the same side if they continue winning and send them to Miami to draw the regional crowds.

Of course they sent #1 undefeated FSU to Pasadena last year, so maybe the committee is indifferent.

I believe that the #1 seed gets to pick their venue.

FSU wasn't #1, however. At least not as ranked by the committee. Bama was 1, OSU was 4. I think FSU may have been 3, actually. Don't care to look it up.

1 and 2 get "home" advantage. Which is why Bama got Sugar and Oregon got Pasadena. FSU and tOSU were 3/4.
It's also why everyone here says seeding doesn't matter much for the Big -- only conference that has no "home" destination between the 6 locations. Apparently the NC will never be in the Midwest/Northeast either, not even domes.

If it's tOSU-ND and Clemson-Bama, I don't know where they'd put the games. I guess Clemson would draw FL? and the Midwest would go to Texas?
If it's tOSU-ND and Clemson-OSUlite, Clemson would almost certainly get FL leaving Texas for the Midwest schools.

It'd be nice to see Indianapolis get a serious look moving forward as a major bowl destination. They now have an excellent modern (indoor) stadium, and it would allow for a Northern/Midwestern team a chance at true homefield advantage.

They should certainly apply! Given the fact that the NCAA is headquartered there, they'd absolutely get a look.

Considering they didn't seriously consider Minneapolis with their shiny new NFL stadium which will be hosting a Super Bowl, any city north of the M-D Line will absolutely not get seriously considered. The bowl committees and their supporters are too content with their warm winter getaways and booze cruises on million dollar yachts. Can't be having those on a frozen lake, and heaven forbid having to put on a coat to leave a $100/drink bar to go somewhere. All explained away by the lame excuse that "the fans won't travel to a northern city in the winter."

I think you're running the scenario backwards. A facility/city does have to apply to host the event right? You have to put together a bid package and show off the facility and surrounding areas? The NCAA in its "fuddy-duddy" ways isn't going to approach you to host it.
I'm assuming that's how San Francisco got the title game for the 2018-2019 game. Their new stadium has been up and running for two years, hence, they had the ability to show it off.

The fact that they're going to NoCal shows that the committee is clearly open to new ideas and change of scenery.

Minnesota did all that, and didn't get a look.

January weather in NorCal is still a far cry from January in Indy, and especially January in Minneapolis. The average low is still 14* above freezing, and the precipitation is rain, not snow.

So are we thinking best chance bowl is the Citrus? What are the likely scenarios that send us to the Rose?

EDIT: Being an Orlando resident has me chomping at the bit for Citrus Bowl tix thinking they're likely to be playing in that one.
