I really don't like thinking of this team in a big Bowl game vs a team that would want to be there.

These guys wouldn't be human if they didn't check out to some degree from missing out on the playoffs.

I have no idea how the selection process works now... but if they just pick in some predetermined order, we'd have a good chance at Rose? We'd basically be vying with the loser from CCG (and in the end, I think they take all 3 teams... but maybe Iowa ends up playing a mid major in Fiesta or something?)

So are we thinking best chance bowl is the Citrus? What are the likely scenarios that send us to the Rose?

EDIT: Being an Orlando resident has me chomping at the bit for Citrus Bowl tix thinking they're likely to be playing in that one.

Being stationed in Tampa, I would be lying if I said I wasnt secretly hoping for a Cap One or Citrus Bowl game.

That is why I'm already not overly excited about it

If they beat UM and miss out on the playoffs (which unless msu chokes against psu, it's about a 99% certainty that happens), I could see the team perform well. Especially in a rose bowl setting. But if they lose all to UM, and somehow backdoor themselves in a major 6 bowl, or whatever the fuck they call them, then yea watch out. It could get ugly. I don't think they have a shot of getting in a bowl like that if they lose to UM.

I love the musical SEC chairs in the poll.....one mediocre team falls out (LSU this week) and another mediocre team (Miss State) is thrown right back in. Gotta keep the status quo I assume.

Yep, one writer had us 8th behind Notre Dame and another writer had Stanford at #3....

Yeah a 10 win team that beat the #6 team on the road and whos losses are to a top 5 team and another top 20 team on the road being just outside the top 10 is a joke...

They won't won't need any excuses. Notre Dame will be motivation enough. One wonders is some of the coaches will gave their heads in the game...

That last poll was a little frustrating. Dropping for Stanford to get up there? I dearly hope Iowa slaughters them. Funny thing of the AP is there is only like 30 pts difference between Iowa and us. Coaches is similarly close with us 1 spot higher. I look forward to the destruction of ND.
