I don't deny they're bigger than they used to be

But their biggest O-lineman is 285. Our biggest O-lineman is 322. That's quite a difference in size.

Still a lot bigger than in the past. And I'll bet that their 285lb OL looks in a lot better shape than our 322lb OL.

You betcha. Their OL protects our country when not protecting the QB. Our OL protects his Quarter Pounder when he's not protecting TP.

He did't start out as a 7' center.. He enrolled as a 6'7" Forward..

Actually, players in the service academies are bigger than they were in the past, as the services have been less strict on height/weight requirements for athletes. Hell, David Robinson was a 7' center and was in the Submariner Service.

I know coming out of HS I thought about joining the Navy Reserves, since Miami had NROTC, at least in 2001 you had to have below a 20% Body Fat Percentage, and while some special accomodations may be made for athletes I'm sure they aren't having some of the guys that major college programs do

Bingo. The Air Force still had body fat limits in 2001 when I retired from active duty and I'm sure they still do, along with the other services.

We had major scares from Marshall in 2004 and Ohio last season. While I also think we'll be just fine, I can understand some fans having at least a little concern about facing a never-quit team like Navy in the season opener.

Navy deserves respect. Our OL doesn't deserve to be bad mouthed.

I'm sure it was just a lighthearted joke. It had to be. I mean, how many 300-lb. guys have you seen eat a burger with a mere single patty on it?

Just out of curiosity.....Where will these navy planes come from? Do we have a carrier in Lake Erie!?

Do services "share" bases for things such as this?

Either way. Very cool.

The post was from a few days ago, from Viperdriver.

FYI, there will be a 4 ship of Hornets doing a flyby for the game. They are based out of South Carolina but will lauch from Toledo. I will put up a separate thread so folks know its coming.
