How often in the Jim Tressel era has a Buckeye team lost a home game to team they had no business losing to? I think they will be just fine.

No, I agree. I'm not worried about this game. My wording probably could have been better. I just thought there may be more discussion on this game this week. Haven't seen as much dialogue as I thought I would from either fanbase. I assume everyone is busy getting game day preparations ready, or looking forward to SC, maybe it'll come later in the week. I don't know, just that I'm ready for the season to start.

We had major scares from Marshall in 2004 and Ohio last season. While I also think we'll be just fine, I can understand some fans having at least a little concern about facing a never-quit team like Navy in the season opener.

Just out of curiosity.....Where will these navy planes come from? Do we have a carrier in Lake Erie!?

Do services "share" bases for things such as this?

Either way. Very cool.

Not to dwell on that point but didn't SDSU give us a scare too? Thank god for our pick six abilities.

There's a reason service academies aren't as good as they used to be, and size of the players is a big part of it.

Actually, players in the service academies are bigger than they were in the past, as the services have been less strict on height/weight requirements for athletes. Hell, David Robinson was a 7' center and was in the Submariner Service.

I like the thought of David on a sub...talk about a tight squeeze.

One would think that a former offensive lineman would have a hard time fitting in the cockpit of a fighter jet... No?

Nah, the Navy has a pilot compression machine for the larger people. Temporarily shrinks the body but not the head whilst airborn. Pilot returns to normal at touchdown.

I don't deny they're bigger than they used to be

But their biggest O-lineman is 285. Our biggest O-lineman is 322. That's quite a difference in size.

He also grew 7" of that 7' while in the Service.

David Robinson: Biography from Answers.com

In Naval Academy, he grew seven inches, began to play basketball; graduated with a degree in mathematics and spent two years on active duty
