LB Nick Conner (Official Thread)

YES! Knew he would get that offer if he went to camp. A HUGE congrats to Nick and I am so excited to have him in this class. I have no doubts he will be a great player and leader in the future. Welcome aboard Mr. Conner! Now go get Baker and Hilliard to join you so we can have an incredible all Ohio LB class.

1 of 3 of the Ohio LBs for 2015. This class is coming along beautifully. Glad that Nick was patient and was able to earn his offer. It's crazy on other sites how they bad mouthed the staff so much for not offering him earlier, I think Urban and Co. Know what they're doing. Nick will be special for the Buckeyes. He definitely wanted to be a Buckeye. Congratulations Mr. Conner

I don't see a player similar to Boren...at least not from what I'm reading about his camp performances. Nick dominated the Rivals 5-Star Challenge by combining both playing very physical while showing he could drop back and play in space in the passing game. I see more of an OLB whereas Boren was better playing in the middle and closer to the line foe scrimmage. Just my take...

Agreed completely, only comparison is they are both white LBs from Ohio. Conner is extremely athletic and has proven time-after-time at combines against the best in the country that he excels in coverage. Further, you can see he is a great playmaker in space from his film and is very adept in sideline-to-sideline pursuit. I still think he might be a MIKE down the road with his play recognition and ability to sift through traffic inside to make the tackle, plus he has the physical makeup of a MIKE for sure. That being said, I think he is equally able to play SAM or WILL depending on what we need and when we need it. Of course Kwon looks like the future in the middle, so if Conner is ready to play early, it would likely be on the outside since Kwon is likely all MIKE.
