I like this pick up. We have a good balance of pure football players and athletic freaks at LBer now. I saw on twitter this morning that we may have a 3-LBer coup, ranging Cleveland-Columbus-Cinci. I like it.

I don't think he is like Schlegel at all either...Schlegel made up for his deficiencies in the athletic area with other intangibles. Conner is every bit as athletic as Baker and Hilliard (if not more) and I do not see such comparisons for them. I think people are breaking their back to compare Conner to a former OSU LB that was white and no such comparison is there.
That being said, I think Nick compares really well coming out of high school to Chris Gallipo, who I have no idea how he did not work out at USC. Identical size, moves well in traffic and has a nose for the ball, very technically sound in wrapping up the ball carrier, and plenty athletic enough to cover space and play in coverage. In terms of how I see his style of play working out at the next level, I could see him as very similar to Anthony Barr of UCLA. That is close as I can really get...I thought long and hard about it but I guess I hate forcing comparisons if it is not obvious...Nick Conner compares to Nick Conner imo
