They're going nowhere in the playoffs. They'll probably at least get a wildcard, but they arent getting past their first round opponent.

The fact that they have not been able to mount more than a 3 game lead all year in this garbage division pretty much says it all.

Not unless they pitch Kluber every third day and Saladbar and Bauer continue to pitch like aces...both highly unlikely.

Ramirez has carried this team much of the season and he has gone into a slump of sorts.. Really cannot call A true slump because of the rest of the lineup. Without Lonnie and without Ramirez hitting the way he has been all season this team is pathetic when it comes to scoring runs.

Francona also needs to wake up and try to score some runs in a unconventional manner for him.

Blaming the bullpen when we only score 2 runs is pretty pathetic even for the Cleveland Indians.

I guess you will have to wait until Kluber pitcheis a shutout and maybe we can win in extra innings somehow..

Good pitching does nothing if the offense can only score 1 or 2 runs though.

You also have to factor in the high probability of a bullpen meltdown.

People will try to say "it's only one game" but this late in the season when you are hocking games away in late innings like this, it's more of a trend than a one game mishap

No, it's definitely a season-long trend.

We're past the point of the season that you can just hope they're going to suddenly pull it together. At this point, they are what they are...an incredibly average team that is fortunate to play in a garbage division and have a true ace at the top of the rotation. There are too many holes/issues with this team to hope for any kind of repeat of last year's magic. Last year was truly a "lightning in a bottle" season, and they pissed away their one chance at a WS win in typical Cleveland fashion.

Take away that nine game win streak, and they're a 51-50 team.

We're actually only 3 games behind last year's record (63-48) on this date, but I cannot see any way they go 31-19 the rest of the way. They'll most likely stumble along just over .500 and finish around 87-75/88-74.

The Mets must really dislike the Yankees. Though the "multiple prospects" were likely multiple Ryder Ryans. Bruce doesnt have much market value at this point as a 1+ month or so rental.
