Cleveland Browns (2009 Season)

And I see Braylon is rubbung off on the other pass "catchers" nicely.

I was suprised by the defense for the most part today, they played pretty well. However, I'm still not happy with McDonald being opposite of Wright.
Wright is going to make a name for himself this year. It'll be interesting to see if Lewis can last a whole season.

This team has a chance of being solid this year and that is all I could hope for when we started the season. We just don't have the playmakers on either side of the ball to be anything more.

Brady Quinn needs to remember to wipe the KY and spooge off his throwing hand before he goes on the field.

That was the worst shit I've ever seen.

The Browns used to be good enough to at least lose the game at the end on some fluke bullshit like the Bengals had happen to them today.

The Vikings played their DBs up all game... did not respect Quinn's arm or the confidence of the coaches in his arm. Only two completions all game longer than 12 yards and they came after the game was over. We need to let Brady air it out one way or the other because this could be a season-long problem.

The defense played well for a while, but they were on the field the whole second half and they got worn out. Just too many problems all over the field.

one of the few times they did air it out, BE ran the wrong route and the result was an int. Edwards admitted to screwing it up after the game.

but the vikings set the template for how to defend cleveland, cb's play up on the wr's, jam them at the LOS, and hope the DL gets pressure. Of course, there isn't a more physical secondary in the NFL than Minny's, so we'll see what happens next week.

.
I don't know if it was no respect for Quinn's arm or the fact that the Browns really don't have any receivers to stretch the defense except maybe for Edwards and their 2 second round picks who I did not even see get into the game. Furrey and Cribbs are not field stretchers but more possession type receivers. Not that any of the above would have made any difference with the Browns defense and o-line:!

In other words, there's plenty of disrespect to go around.

And another thing I think it would have been brilliant of Mangini to have chosen a starting QB earlier in practice so Quinn would have had more reps with the first team WRs. I am beginning to dislike our coach and he has only coached one game:(

Yeah how about that competitive advantage of not naming a starting QB...I think I saw Winfield actually wet himself when he saw the might Quinn trot out :slappy:

Sorry, but that sounds like someting Charlie the Hut would have done in his first 2 years...small time.

Hey, don't underestimate the impact of the Vikings having to watch two reels of blooper film instead of one. The Browns were able to ride that advantage to their first garbage time TD in ten months.

or, god forbid, given what you saw in week 1, they really couldn't pick between the two, which is why the competition extended as long as it did.
