Cleveland Browns (2009 Season)

I'm wondering if the game against Detroit in Week 11 might be for the right to go 0-16 again. Of course this assumes that Detroit doesn't improve through the season.

You know, the more I watched today the more I saw last year, especially on Defense. I love it when we have OLB's on slot WRs. Awesome defense, the 3-4 :shake:

That is exactly what that game will be for. I think Detroit improves enough to win the game though...

It has nothing to do with the 3-4. 3-4 or 4-3 the DB's are the same. It might be the difference between the Browns OLB's compared to OLB's that other teams like the Steelers have. If you see James Harrison walk out on a slot WR you probably wouldn't dread it as much. IMO shorter more powerful OLB are better for the 3-4.

Cribbs doesn't have much fantasy value without return yardage, does he? It seems like they tried to use him today and still didn't get much.
Return yardage, and 3 yard receptions on 3rd and long is Cribbs' only fantasy value right now. Is there a fantasy category for third down receptions without a conversion? Brady loves the dump off.

There will be no downfield passing as long as the running game is this bad. Teams don't have to respect what's left of Jamal Lewis. When your best reciever drops 50% of everything thrown his way, dump offs and short curls are gonna be your best option.

Next week they get the Ravens. Ugh. That's gonna be a fucking bloodbath. Something along the lines of 42-0 and a Quinn concusiion seems pretty likely. Looking at the schedule, there's a real good chance of being 0-9 going in to Detroit and battling it out for next year's #1 pick.

i actually think you have the causality backwards. the running game is bad for several reasons. first, lewis is awful. secondly the right side of the OL is a total trainwreck. womack was actually pulled for fraley yesterday. finally, teams have 9 guys within 8 yards of the line of scrimmage because they have no respect for cleveland's verticle passing game.

everyone knows that quinn shits down his leg at the scent of pressure and immediately hits his check downs, and the right side of the OL rarely offers enough protection for any downfield passing. that's why the running game stinks.
