Boise State in the NC game?

I agree, if there are two teams of Oregon, LSU, MSU or Auburn, they'll get passed over, but I think all of those teams will still slip up somewhere...everybody thought 'bama was unstoppable two weeks ago and look what happened...

How crazy would it be though if all the power conferences end up with at least one loss and you've got TCU and Boise undefeated? LOL. Looking at the schedules, it looks very possible.

The mind of the mid-major.

90% of 150 million is what 60 teams are splitting now. Because they have created a 2 tier system they have a huge recruiting advantage. No matter how many games a team like BSU can win Ohio State can always point to the auto-bid and the huge conference advantages in bowl bids.

If they go to a playoff that recruiting advantage is gone. Which means Big 10 schools like Illinois, Indiana, Northwestern, Purdue would all disapear as power football programs. Without the recruiting advantage these schools would be fighting it out with Utah state and SJSU for crumbs.

Immiediatley Ohio State would be competitng with BSU for 5 star athletes because in a playoff they don't have the BCS advantage.

Then when you consider the 300 to 400 million dollars a playoff creates would be distributed based on a programs success. It would be likely very quickley that teams like Houston, BSU, Utah, Troy, Fresno ect.... would all be bringing in money equal to Ohio State out of these playoffs and recruiting at the same level as well.

So Ohio State and there buddies can keep 90% of 150 million. Or they can start a playoff have to compete fairly with 120 schools and split 350- 400 million possibly equally. When you consider the loss in prestige that would occur cutting into apparal sales and Big 10 regular season TV contracts a playoff might only be more money for the current have nots.

They are scared of competing fairly.

Later he goes on to say that Boise would end up dominating Pac 10 and Big Ten schools because of their lax admissions standards. Moron Alert

Random delusional Boise fan on their board said:
You don't get it. BSU manhandled the PAC-10 champion last year. 0 first downs in the middle of the 3rd quarter. We expect it cause it happens. We don't just do it against cup cakes, we do it against elite programs. Maybe you haven't noticed but BSU has played five 10 win BCS programs and had 3 score leads on all 5 of them in the last 5 years. Sorry if you think it is arrogance. It is just the way it has been in Boise for years. Bad, good and great teams have been humiliated by BSU...

Including bowls, Boise State is 8-10 versus BCS schools since 2000. They're 104-7 against non-BCS schools during that time.

doesn't really matter because I don't see Auburn or Oregon losing. But hey, if they do, just give Boise a shot and let them fall on their faces so we can be done with them.

If you're right and the NC game becomes Oregon - Auburn it will be interesting to see how quickly the NCAA moves to resolve matters in Alabama. Would it be more in their interest to have that match up than Oregon - Boise? Would TV care if it was Oregon and a school that could well be forced to vacate a championship (for the 2nd time in 10 years)?

I'm sure "TV" would love the "is this even gonna count" Auburn Tigers. But that's just my imo...

They'll take them over a match up that will interest few east of the Mississippi and no one south of the Mason Dixon line. Oregon-Boise is a ratings nightmare.
