Boise State in the NC game?

Well which conference has been better than the SEC the past decade? I'm not trying to start an argument by any means.....just a healthy debate.

If you must ask I believe its been pretty murky if your looking at the entire decade, especially considering the down years in the SEC. 2002-2005 the Big 10 was arguably top to bottom the strongest and that cycle has started to come back around as evidenced by this year's bowl season.

I still can't get over the fact Florida couldn't beat an unranked M*chigan that Appy state took down that very year.

However my father called that upset... maybe I should put some money on the old man?

Because Michigan didn't half ass it like they did at the start of the year. They actually came in the game thinking.....we don't give a fuck....we are going to let Henne sling it all over the place instead of take our usual conservative approach.

Boise State now thinks they're above playing Idaho, or at least having to play a road game with them.

Boise State becoming a big-time program in all the wrong ways

Never again, Boise State.

I've always taken up your cause when power-conference teams have ducked you Smurf-Turf titans. Not anymore. Not since you began acting just like the snobs who have looked down their facemasks at the Broncos for years. Thanks to this Idaho flap, you've forfeited your right to ever complain about any program that -- due to fear, multinational conspiracy or a plain old lack of respect -- declines to schedule you.

You joined the Mountain West, Broncos, not the Skull and Bones. You're not too good to play Idaho, the in-state rival you've faced every year since 1971. You're certainly not too good to face the Vandals in Moscow (unofficial motto: It could be worse. You could be in Pullman.)

What would you hook-and-lateral lovers say if the chancellor of Nebraska or some other power-conference school said he wouldn't send his team and fans to Boise because he had an aversion to potential losses, tiny stadiums, miniscule television markets and comically colored playing surfaces? Oh, wait. That's what most of the power-conference schools do say. And you go crazy. You cry foul. You hold it up as another case of the man keeping the little guy down.

So how do you think Vandals fans felt this week when your president, Robert Kustra, described an away game in Moscow to the editorial board of the Idaho Statesman this week? "It's a culture that is nasty, inebriated and civilly doesn't give our fans the respect that any fan should expect when visiting an away team," Kustra said, according to the paper.

...

Could it be that you Broncos, who now have one of the nation's best programs, have turned into the same kind of snobs you used to despise? It's quite a bit different when the cleat is on the other foot, isn't it?

So enjoy the hard-won spoils of your program's rise, Boise State. Go ahead and cancel the Idaho series after this season if you feel it suits your needs. But if you do, don't start whining when teams from richer conferences refuse to schedule you. We don't want to hear it.

You Broncos aren't scrappy underdogs anymore. You're now the man.
And you're trying to keep the little guy down.

Cont'd ...

OK, I have lost all respect for the Smurf Turf assholes:

Boise State AD eyes legislation for more home-and-homes - NCAA Football - Sporting News

So, let me make sure I have this right.

First: Boise State doesn't want to play their in-state rivals anymore now that they have moved to another conference, and made some derogatory comments about the venue and why they shouldn't have to play there any more.

Second: Cry to the NCAA that "The Big Boys won't play nice, you need to make them!! (but don't make us play those dirty rotten Vandals in their stadium, please overlook that)"

Tell you what, Boise State. If you want mandated home/away series with the Big Boys, then you install about 30,000 - 50,000 more seats, get fans to fill up those seats every week, and get rid of that God awful Smurf Turf and all blue uniforms and maybe, just maybe you will be worthy of home/away series in the future.

But, we all know you will not do what needs to be done regarding the stadium and the turf. So, with that said, I have two words for you, Boise State: FUCK YOU.

I will root against the Smurffetts from here forward. I hope VPI rips them a new one on the 6th.

Sounds like they need a lesson in humility, no? Let's hope that VaTech can provide such a lesson opening weekend.

Since 2002, while Boise was allegedly becoming a "big time" program,

Versus non-BCS teams: 84-4

Versus BCS teams: 6-7

Their last six bowls? 2-4, but all "the experts" remember are the two they won.

Put them in the SEC, Big Ten or Big XII and they would lose at least 2 conference games every year. It's one thing to gear up and play one big boy tough. It's another to run a gauntlet of them.

They will probably lose at least 2 games a year in the MWC, even without BYU and Utah.

Being a casual fan of Nevada, I can tell you that Boise is not the lovable bunch of overachievers the press makes them out to be. Their fanbase is horrible, and much worse in my opinion, their administration is worse. The place is an overgrown community college (they actually teach truck driving) that is obsessed with becoming a big time football school at all costs.

I am so hoping that VaTech lays down a vicious gorilla rape on them Monday night, and all this NC talk is quickly ended.
