subject The Pursuit of Academic Excellence
mailed-by gmail.com
Dear Dr. Gee:
You are the President of The Ohio State University - a fine school, but one that currently trails The University of Michigan academically. Michigan's engineering program, Business School, MBA program, Law school, Medical school, etc., are all currently ranked ahead of Ohio State University. While you are competitive on the football field, your academics are still far behind.
You are an expert in academics, but you are a novice in athletics. You have not played college sports. You have not coached college sports. You have not written about college sports. And yet you see fit to make sweeping generalizations to the media about college sports. It would be in the best interest of your school and your career to focus on what you know best - just like Donald Haurin does in your economics department. You are ignorant when it comes to athletics. You admittedly know very little about football. You tout Ohio State's Football schedule, and belittle dozes of other teams and conferences around the country.
Yet Ohio State has the 56th toughest schedule in College football - not exactly the "gauntlet" that you think it is. Ohio State has only beaten 1 top-25 team in the country this year. TCU and BSU have both done that. You endorse a cartel that is both anti-competitive and un-American. And more of even greater significance, you have let your focus and expertise stray from catching Michigan in the classroom, where you are far behind, to speaking out on athletic topics that you know nothing about.
Please keep your ignorant, belittling comments on football to yourself. Maybe if you did, you could score at least one point against Michigan in the classroom.
Sincerely,
(My real name)
