2013 Preseason and regular polls

tOSU, on the other hand, has shown some real vulnerability in the past 3 games. I don't see how anybody could say FSU isn't a more impressive team than tOSU right now.

Honestly, I'd rather see OSU play Bama or Oregon. I want no part of this FSU offense right now. Winston would torch this secondary unless shit gets fixed ASAP.

OK come clean, aren't some of the folks on here bitching about FSU, Oregon and Alabama the same folks who have spent years on this site stating that Ohio State didn't need a strong Michigan, or Penn State, or Wisconsin, or Nebraska to get to the big dance?

The Bucks have also had bad luck with their OOC scheduling, getting Texas with Vince Young, USC with a monster team and then Barkley, catching Miami without Pryor, Posey, et al, catching Cal in two years where we would have gotten a better match with a MAC team. But let's be honest; the conference is holding this team back. Personally, I think third or fourth place is a good position for this Buckeye team. The defense has not matured as fast as I thought it might and the offense is not as consistent as I thought it would be. It keeps them out of a bowl match up they're not ready for.

One more year of maturity and another UFM recruiting class will do a lot for the quality and depth. Let us hope that it also does something for the Big Ten.

Here's something to think about: if all four teams stay undefeated, we could potentially have two NC title games. Bama/FSU in the BCS title game, and OSU/Oregon in the Rose Bowl for the AP title. Don't think for a moment that the attention hungry AP writers won't want to anoint their own champion, especially if there was high perception of injustice that Oregon got left out.

If tOSU does get to play for the glass football, I hope Urban has saved the 2007 Plunger.

It would be 2 years in a row that Oregon got left out.

Also, no one could argue that the BCS was more "___________", since it is self destructing on its own.

So I was thinking OSU really needs Nebraska or MSU to run the table with scUM winning all but to the the one game to one of those teams before The Game. ScUM winning out would just get us 2 games against them, which I don't want. Not that I don't want to beat scUM twice in a year, but the first game would drop them out of the ranking so a second win wouldn't do anything.

I don't think anything will get OSU past 2-3 unbeaten teams from higher rated conferences, but we need wins against ranked teams. Hopefully everything else will take care of itself with at least 2 of the 2 of the 3 conferences not having a unbeaten team. IMO we should stay in front of a team like Baylor if they win out. Convincing wins would help as well. Here's to kicking Ped State's teeth in on Saturday.

i dont see Baylor going undefeated. Plus i expect by the end of the year big ten will look better in the rankings. B12 got killed ooc year after year.

Part of the Big 12's past problems resulted from losses to Truck Driver U. Washington took care of business this year as did the other powers, Stanford, Oregon, UCLA. throw in a little help from the home town zebras in Arizona and there's no OOC problem.
