2013 Preseason and regular polls

Not sure what criteria there is for Florida State to be ranked ahead of Ohio State? Both teams have beaten two ranked teams, one of which for both parties has dropped out ( Florida and NW). Clemson was shown to be overranked (due to beatong Georgia). Everyone is just caught up with the hype from last nights game while the Buckeyes quietly beat a sound defensive team.
FSU beat their last two two ranked opponents by a combined score of 114-14, one on the road vs. the #3 team in the country. I don't care if you want to call Clemson overrated or not, they whipped their ass up and down the field for four quarters and won 51-14. You can try to convince yourselves otherwise all you want, but that's damned impressive. And yes, UGA has fallen apart, but they've been ravaged by injuries. Clemson beat them when they were healthy. tOSU, on the other hand, has shown some real vulnerability in the past 3 games. I don't see how anybody could say FSU isn't a more impressive team than tOSU right now.

Thank you. I still stand by the fact that, while Ohio St is beatable, no way is Florida St two spots higher than us.

Yeah but I'd still have any combination of FSU/Oregon/Alabama ahead of Ohio State right now so that means one of them has to be two spots ahead. The computers love FSU by the way....that's why they are 2nd and oregon is 3rd.

I'd have FSU #1 comfortably. To me, they are the most impressive team in the country right now. Winning in Death Valley on a Saturday night is a tall order, but 51-14? Even if Clemson is only a marginal top-10/15 team, that is as impressive a win as anybody has had this year. FSU is averaging 557 yards and 53 ppg. They're allowing 287 yards and 12 ppg. They are dominating on both sides of the ball.

Yeah i don't give a butterfly's butthole who's ranked where at this point. When FSU chokes against Florida, being impressive against an overrated Georgia beater won't matter.

Georgia's depth issues didn't lose those games, Murray's int's and bad decisions did.

...and that's why you won't see me stressing about polls. tOSU just needs to keep winning by any means necessary. An undefeated Urban Meyer coached Buckeye team riding a two season unbeaten streak isn't gonna be passed by a 1 loss team this year. Just keep taking care of business and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeah i wasn't arguing just responding. Tbh, I feel like this tOSU team is going the 2002 route thru an underated B1G while the rest of the teams are believing their own hype. Only this time, the offense is being tested and honed against some tough D. I want MSU in the BTCG

Yeah, I don't think the B1G is as awful as everybody is saying. MSU has one the best Ds in the nation. Wiscy is back to being the solid team they were before last season. Nebraska is dangerous. NW is suffering now because Colter is hurt, but when we played them, they were a pretty decent team. PSU and scUM are decent teams. While I still think the SEC is the better conference, I don't think the gap is as wide as most would lead you to believe.

Alabama still has to play LSU, @ AUB and SEC CG
Oregon still has to play UCLA, @ Stanford, a rivalry game and the PAC12 CG
FSU still has to play Miami, @UF and the ACC CG

OSU has the easiest path to go undefeated but will be left out if there are multiple undefeateds. I can live with that.

I can also live with the odds that those 3 teams won't win all those games.

Just two out of the three has to lose. We can get in the title game as a second seed.

Out of the three, I see Oregon most likely to lose a game, then 'Bama, and followed by FSU.

The '98 season was probably most similar. FSU had an early loss and there were four juggernauts in OSU, UCLA, KSU and Tenn that were all undefeated heading into Nov. Had the Razorback QB not inexplicably laid the ball on the ground without contact in the final minutes vs. UT, none of the four would've been undefeated. In fact, UCLA KSU and UT all went into Dec. undefeated and it took some Tee Martin heroics that all three weren't knocked out on the final weekend of the regular season.

I don't see this season being any different.
