2013 Preseason and regular polls

I think we match up best with Bama, due to their run first offense.

The Irish thought the same last year given how they handled the run through most of the regular season last year, but we saw how poorly that turned out. They ended up having their worst performance against the run. I think OSU would do a much better job against Bama for sure, but you want an Oregon matchup before Bama. Oregon doesn't play well against smash mouth type teams that are more physical than them, they tend to fold. Stanford, Auburn, USC to a lesser extent (They're still more of a finesse team, but they've had the talent in previous years), and of course the Buckeyes a few years ago. Oregon may have speed, but physical teams cause them to struggle.

This isn't the same Bama team.

True, but analysts said the same about Bama last year. They said it wasn't one of their stronger teams, yet they won the crown again regardless. It's an experienced team, even if they may be stronger offensively than defensively this year if you use the A&M game the last two years as comparison. Oregon, on the other hand, isn't much different without Chip Kelly. It's still a offense first type team that's built on speed, and despite each year people talking about how improved Oregon's defense is, they always show their true colors once they hit the decent teams in the PAC 12, even if their offense can carry the show. I think OSU can certainly beat Alabama, but I"m saying Oregon provides the better matchup because OSU will be more physical than them.

Good head coaches can coach football well. Great head coaches surround themselves with winners. That's why you've got Urban Meyer and he has yet to lose a game there in Columbus. That's why (regardless of what anybody says) Bama has won the titles they have.

After yesterday's weak showing, I don't hold much hope that Oregon will lose. Hoping someone knocks off Bama...

By the way, I'll post this elsewhere too, As of this week, Ohio State is #1 since 1993 according to at least one power ranking: (link)

Stanford needs to take out Oregon.

Duh U needs to take out Floriduh State.

Would be a shame if this Ohio State team didn't get a shot at the title. Make it happen.

Oregon is better than Stanford on both sides of the ball.
Free Shoes is going to house the hell outta Miami. Skin of the teeth only lasts so long.

IMO, if any of the three teams in front of the Buckeyes lose, then it will be unexpected instead of "big game" like.
